A Gobblin from Yoshi's Island DS
Gobblins[1][2] are yellow, spherical enemies in Yoshi's Island DS. Found blocking Warp Pipes, they will bounce Yoshi off if he makes contact with them. To defeat a Gobblin, Yoshi must throw six eggs at it, with it eating each egg and slightly expanding each time. Upon eating the fifth egg, their eyes change to an X shape and they frown. They will explode upon being hit by the sixth egg.
Gobblins in the Island Museum appear in the Subterranean Enemy Exhibit, and are one of the few enemies in the Island Museum that can be defeated.
Naming[edit]
"Gobblin" is a portmanteau of "goblin," a creature in folklore and fantasy fiction that resembles a dwarf, and "gobble," referring to their ability to eat eggs.
