Tayce T. also known as K T. or Cay T Lew is a cook who lives in Toad Town and is in fact a Toad herself. She appears only in Paper Mario, but Nintendo follows the concept of her basic purpose in later Paper Mario games and introduces three other cooks with different names: Zess T. in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Saffron and Dyliss in Super Paper Mario. After Mario finds the Cookbook for Tayce T. (hidden in Shy Guy's Toy Box), she can cook using up to two items per recipe. She also enjoys cooking toasted cheese sandwiches and making smoothies, however her blender was recently broken and therefore she must use her boyfriends. K T. takes food classes several times a week to brush up on her skills. She is said to be incredibly cute, and is described as fun, loveable and amazing. If the player examines the dictionary in Goombella's house; the word 'Caitlin' comes under the definition of 'cute'.
It is interesting to note that, if the player is to give Tayce T. her Frying Pan (which was stolen by a Shy Guy shortly before Chapter 5), she will bake Mario a Cake and, upon doing so, mention that she only bakes cakes for special people due to the fact that it was a delicious Cake that won her boyfriend Nav R. over, therefore making Cakes a heartfelt item for her to prepare. Strangely, Wonky states in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door that Zess T. has an almost identical issue with Couple's Cake.
Trivia
- Nav R. Loves her dearly, and would give up all 5 of his lives for her. He thinks that he's the luckiest toad in the world to have such an amazing girl and misses her every moment they're not together. Nav R. and Cay T. rival even Mario and Peaches relationship. <3
- The name "Tayce T." is a pun on the word "tasty", a word used to describe succulent food.
- The Master is Tayce T.'s brother, as is mentioned by a certain Toad in Paper Mario. Additionally, this same Toad reveals that Tayce T. used to live in the Dojo alongside her brother before moving to her own home.
- One of Wonky's stories in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door seems to indirectly infer that Tayce T. is Zess T.'s sister. If such a notion is to be thought of as true, then the story further reveals that Tayce T. seemed to be native to Rogueport but moved away (likely to Toad Town) at an unknown time, apparently shortly after she married her aforementioned implied husband (who may have therefore been from Rogueport) or Zess T. was born in Toad Town and moved to Rogueport.
- According to a Toad near her house she was taught to cook by a Goomba implied as Gooma.
