Whistlestop Summit is the third race course of the Mushroom Cup in Mario Kart World.[1] It takes place on a giant mountain themed after a steam train in the desert region of the game's map. A railway line with active passenger trains runs all around the mountain.

Course layout

The course starts out at the bottom of the mountain, where the racers will proceed up a winding road. The railway line next to the road then merges into it as both cross a large bridge and start to climb up the mountain. The road winds up to the top past large steam funnel, before the road starts to descend down the mountain. The railway line splits off from the road, as the two wind along before eventually reaching the start-finish line.

Shortcuts

  • The racers have the option to grind along the railway lines instead of just following the road.

Notes

  • The trains that appear in this course appear to be modeled after the JNR Class D51 steam locomotive, the most mass-produced locomotive in Japanese rail history.
