Species Gorilla
First appearance Saturday Supercade ("The Ventriloquist Caper") (1983)

The Wrestling Gorilla is a character who appears in the Saturday Supercade episode "The Ventriloquist Caper." He bears a striking resemblance to Donkey Kong Jr., but with a darker fur color and lacking Jr.'s signature leotard. He is one of the three main performers at the Golden Bridge Theatre during an annual children's show, along with Dandy Andy and the juggling clown.

During the episode, Bones Bailey and Donkey Kong Jr. drive to San Francisco searching for Donkey Kong while stuck in traffic. The former reads a newspaper detailing the children's show at the Golden Bridge Theatre, with it mentioning the Wrestling Gorilla, whom they believe is actually Donkey Kong. Bones and Donkey Kong Jr. arrive backstage at the theater looking for the Wrestling Gorilla, but he is nowhere to be seen. Peter Windson informs them that he is late, resulting in Dandy Andy deciding to perform instead.

After Donkey Kong Jr. and Bones return to the Golden Bridge Theatre after stopping Slick and Shorty from stealing the Regal Diamond from a diamond exhibition at the San Francisco Hotel while posing as Dandy Andy and his doll Andoo, Peter notices the Wrestling Gorilla. Donkey Kong Jr. mentions that he is not Donkey Kong, but the Wrestling Gorilla jumps excitedly and speaks in monkey noises, which Donkey Kong Jr. can understand. Excited, Donkey Kong Jr. walks away with the Wrestling Gorilla who makes more monkey noises, leaving a confused Bones to believe that they are acting.
