Whomp's Domino Ruins (known as Domino Ruins Treasure Hunt in Partner Party) is one of the four available boards in Super Mario Party. It is available from the start. It appears to take place inside a tropical forest next to a stone structure with several Whomp statues.

Mario Party[edit]

Layout[edit]

There are five different sections to the map: The four corners, and the entire top row, which consists of traps.

The bottom right corner is where the players start. After moving a few spaces, the players can make a choice to decide which way to go: up or left. A Whomp can block any of the two paths, and must be paid coins if the players decide to pass by. After paying, the Whomp will move to the other path. If the players go left, they will loop back around the corner. The spaces are as follows: Blue, Red, Blue, Event (Whomps), crossroad (left, up). If the players go left, they will travel to an Event Space (Whomps), Friend, Blue, Lucky, Blue, Flutter Shop icon, Blue, and then back to the Blue Space at the start. If the players go up, they will head to a Blue Space, leading to the top right corner.

The top right corner consists of a Blue Space, and then a crossroad to either go left or up. If the players go left, they will move across a Blue Space, a Paratroopa icon, Blue, Event (Treasure Chests), Bad Luck, and then to a Friend Space on the top row. If the choice was to go up, there will be an Item Space, Blue, Blue, and then to an Event Space (trap) on the top row. Both paths lead to the top row.

The top row consists of a straight path that has the following spaces from right to left: Event (trap) Blue, Blue, Friend, Item, Blue, Item, Blue, Event (trap), Event (trap) and then another Blue Space. After the second Event Space, there is a crossroads to either go left or down. If the choice is to go left, the spaces consist of the aforementioned Event Space and Blue Space, and then leading to a Blue Space on the top left corner. If the choice is down, the player will land on a Red Space.

The top left corner consists of the following spaces in a counterclockwise order: Blue, Blue, Lakitu icon, Blue, Bad Luck, Item, Friend, Vs, Blue, and Red. The right path leads to the Item Space. After the Item Space, there is an Item Space, and then a crossroads to either go down or right. Another Whomp blocks one of two paths, and can switch paths. If the player goes right, they will pass by the following spaces: Event (Whomps), Item, Blue, Blue, Bad Luck, Bad Luck, and then back to the Friend Space on the right side. If the choice is to go down, players will pass by a Vs Space in the bottom left corner.

The bottom left corner consists of the Vs Space, and then a crossroad to either go right or down. If the choice is to go right, the spaces are as follows: Red, Blue, Blue, Item, and then Friend. If the choice is to go down, the spaces consist of Blue, Flutter Shop icon, Lucky, Lucky, Blue, Blue, and then the same Friend Space. Both paths lead to the Friend Space. After the Friend Space, there is a Bad Luck Space, and then the path leads to the Blue Space before the Flutter Shop icon on the bottom right corner of the map, resulting in a complete loop of the board.

Events[edit]

  • Whomps on the Move!: Whomps will move out of the way of one path, but also block another path. The player can also pay coins to move the Whomp should their path be blocked by it. Their movement if tolls are paid reflects Toad mentioning how they are unusually generous if it happens.
  • Domino Trap Sprung!: A Whomp statue will knock over some rock formations like dominoes, and a boulder will appear at the end of the path. Any player in the way will move back to the entry at the other end of the path to get out of the way. These event spaces turn into Blue Spaces after use.
  • Choose a Treasure Chest!: The player has the option to pick one of the three different chests. These chests can contain three coins, ten coins, a Golden Pipe, an Ally Phone, or a Custom Dice Block. It is random which chest contains which reward.

Events[edit]

  • Whomps on the Move!: Whomps will move out of the way of one path, but also block another path. The player can also pay coins to move the Whomp should their path be blocked by it, but they cannot do so if they are facing Whomp's back, and the Whomp will crush them if they either do not pay or don't have enough coins.
  • Domino Trap Sprung!: A Whomp statue will knock over some rock formations like dominoes, and a boulder will appear at the end of the path. Any player in the way will move back to the entry at the other end of the path to get out of the way.
  • Open the Treasure Chest!: Somewhere on the board is a Key. The team with the key can open a treasure chest that contains one or two stars.
