Krusha, The Big Switch-A-Roo

Krusha is one of the main characters and antagonists on the Donkey Kong Country TV series. On the show Krusha is apparently King K. Rool's bodyguard and a high-ranking member of the Kremling Krew. Despite these high positions and responsibilities, Krusha is fairly dimwitted, having a hard time grasping simple concepts and becoming easily distracted. Krusha likes watching "The Sing Along with Uncle Swampy Show", a show meant for young children.

Krusha is also apparently best friends with K. Rool's second-in-command, General Klump, and is often used as the muscle in Klump's schemes. Despite being well-meaning, Krusha's attempts to aid the Kremling Krew often end up in disaster, causing more damage than good.

In the episode "Speed", Krusha is run over with a minecart, causing him to become highly intelligent. He then devises a diabolical plot to kill the Kongs and then claim the Crystal Coconut for himself, managing to force even K. Rool into submission. Krusha is quite evil in this newfound state of mind, considering K. Rool not ruthless enough in his schemes. Despite K. Rool giving in to Krusha and letting him lead, Krusha considers him disposable, only intending to save him upon Klump's request. However, by the end of the episode, Krusha gets run over again, once again becoming the dimwitted henchman he always was, and everyone survives.

Krusha was voiced by Len Carlson in English, Tomohisa Asō in Japanese, Hong Seung-pyo in Korean[1].

Trivia

  • Krusha has been shown to be able to perfectly imitate the voices of others, including King K. Rool and Donkey Kong, as shown in the episode "Kong for a Day".
  • Krusha's stupidity is due to his dislodged brain, as seen in "From Zero to Hero", due to the fact that it fell out his skull and has been sitting inside his pelvis ever since. In "Speed", it is shown that Krusha can regain his intelligence or stupidity if he suffers a strong blow to the head, while in "It's a Wonderful Life", in an alternate version of the island where Donkey Kong does not exist, Krusha appears intelligent (but everyone calls him dim-witted for agreeing with Donkey Kong's idea to replace the papier-mâché lily pad with the Crystal Coconut). Lastly, "Bad Hair Day" is the only other episode where Krusha does not seem dim-witted.
