Mecha Sonic[1] is a crossover character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is a robot replica of Sonic. Mecha Sonic appears briefly in the Super Mario franchise within the game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a boss in the Tokyo Sky Flight minigame found in the Story Mode and the Game Room. His boss fight is similar to his original one from Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which has Mecha Sonic spinning around in a ball form, then shooting out spikes. As a ball, he homes in on the player, and when he lands, he stands on either the street level or the building as a platform. Both rolled and unrolled forms are vulnerable to shots.
