Trash Landing is a 4-Player and Duel minigame in Mario Party DS. Its name is a pun on "crash landing."

Introduction

In the scene, there are players standing on a short but giant stepladder. The players sight ropes hanging from the ceiling as they remain hanged. The minigame is set in a garage full of tools, car parts, and any related object that remains in the garage. Shortly afterwards, the minigame starts.

Gameplay

In this minigame, the players have to pick a rope within a time limit of five seconds. If there are four players in the minigame, there are five ropes available for all the players to choose. If there are only two players in the minigame, only three ropes are available for both players to choose. The player cannot pick a rope that another player already chose. After that, the players grab the ropes they chose and glide forward. The players then have to time their drops to safely land on the objects in front of them. Each rope leads to a different garage object, not revealed to the players beforehand, and each object has a different size, affecting the player's ability to land on it. The objects that players can land on include a toolbox, a soda can, a bucket, and two oilcans. All players who successfully land on their objects win. If all the players miss their landing, the minigame ends in a tie.
