Gusty Blizzard is a 1-vs.-3 minigame that is found in Mario Party DS. The minigame requires Microphone for the solo player and Stylus for the team players.

Introduction[edit]

The minigame takes place on a hat of a Mr. Blizzard, providing the minuscule participants a view of their surroundings: a fence, a large wooden sled, and mountains underneath an expanse of blue sky. The camera approaches three stationary Mr. Blizzards and remains facing them. A short moment later, the three Mr. Blizzards are revealed to be the team players, apparently frozen from the strong winter wind. They free themselves, and the minigame begins.

Gameplay[edit]

The solo player's objective is to use Microphone to freeze the team of three completely within the time limit of ten seconds. This action produces a violent blizzard. The team of three's objective is to survive the freezing blizzard produced by the solo player. Players must rub their respective characters with Stylus in order to warm them. There is a thermometer next to each player, indicating their body temperature. If one of the players is completely frozen, the character cannot be warmed anymore, and they freeze into a Mr. Blizzard. The solo player's chances of winning are completely dependent upon the strength of the blizzard, which in turn is dependent upon how hard they blow. The teammates' chances of winning are dependent upon their characters' body temperatures, which in turn are dependent upon how quickly Stylus is rubbed against them. If the solo player successfully freezes the team players, the solo player wins. If one or more of the team of three survive the blizzard, the team wins.

Ending[edit]

If the soloist wins, they are teleported onto the platform where the team players were; the soloist celebrates their victory afterwards. If the team of three wins, the team players celebrate instead, having trapped the soloist in a pile of snow.
