A Wonder Seed, is a collectable item. Collecting Wonder Seed will end a currently active Wonder Effect. The color of a Wonder Seed changes depending on the current world, and it always identical to that of the world's Wonder Flowers. Each level in the game contains at least two Wonder Seeds, with one always being given to players as a reward for completing a level and rescuing a Poplin. Wonder Seeds also behave similarly to Green Stars in Super Mario 3D World, where levels can be unlocked upon collecting a specific amount of them.
Wonder Seeds resemble a brown tree seed with a small sapling peaking out of its head. Their head's colour depends on the world, however their eyes are often white.
