Minkeys are small white apes[1] who appear as enemies in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. In the latter game, their name is spelled Minkys.

History

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

Kiddy Kong gets behind a Barrel Shield to protect from Minkeys at Barrel Shield Bust-Up.
Several Minkeys hurling acorns at Kiddy Kong

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, Minkeys only appear in one level, Barrel Shield Bust-Up, where they are the main enemy and obstacle. They hold on to a perch from a tree, and repeatedly attack Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong by throwing an acorn at them and then retreating into their to then throw another acorn at them. Minkeys cannot be defeated, so Dixie or Kiddy must either dodge the acorns or move in front of a Barrel Shield to protect themselves from being hit by their acorns.

In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, during the game's ending, a photograph of a Minkey is categorized under Terrorfirma Tuff Guys.

In the Game Boy Advance version, Minkeys also appear in a Pacifica level, Sunken Spruce.

Donkey Kong Land III

In Donkey Kong Land III, Minkys retain their behavior from the previous game. They appear in three levels: Minky Mischief, Redwood Rampage, and Simian Shimmy, making them slightly more common than in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!.
