Hello to all the lovely readers old and new, and welcome to this month's Pipe Plaza! As of last week, I'm officially graduated! And in typical me fashion of waiting until the last minute to do the important things, we are only just now finalizing college plans. Yeah the last several months have been extremely messy, not helped at all by the world diving headfirst into the worst game of Jumanji ever! But I'm more focused on what I could be doing next rather than what I could have done before.

If you haven't already, go check out the first ever 'Shroomfest! For those wondering what side I will be taking, well, you'll just have to wait and see, now won't you? But ah, I will say that no matter what side I end up falling on, everyone on both sides should enjoy my contributions to the side I do pick. If you've been paying attention to recent Mach Speed Mayhem antics, you probably have an idea of where this is going. :3c

Unfortunately, Hooded Pitohui has decided to put 'Shroom Recap on hiatus, so we won't be seeing it for a good while. But don't fret, if you're thinking about writing a section similar to it (or even a different section entirely), you can! Head to the sign up page to get started!

Back again for another month! I know, crazy! Multiple months in a row! Anyways, welcome to Mario Calendar! My name is GPM1000, and here is where we dive back into the history of our favorite mustachioed plumber. I’ll be listing every Mario game that has ever released in the month of June. Let’s a go!

Tournaments

A bunch of tournaments have solidified since last month! Let's go into the details of each one.

Mario Awards Killing Game 4: Despair Incorporated

The fourth annual Awards Killing Game on the Super Mario Boards (and fifth overall). Killing Game is a game loosely based on the Danganronpa series, and involves solving murders that were committed by one of the players during a night phase. The setting of this year is Neo Bowser City, specifically the Neo Bowser Tower, in which stock trading is the main business.
As traditional for Awards Killing Games, the players have been split into two maps, dubbed after two corporations that are located in this building. After the player counts have been reduced, the remaining players will join on a third map.

Panel de Pon

The recent release of Panel de Pon in Nintendo Switch Online's Super Nintendo Entertainment System library, which allows for online multiplayer, has prompted the hosting of a tournament in this game. Panel de Pon is an action puzzle game, where coloured blocks, that rise up from below the field, need to be aligned to make them disappear and earn points. It shares similarities with Tetris, but is a whole different game regardless.
The tournament takes shape in the form of a Round Robin format, where every player faces everyone else over the course of several rounds.
This tournament is currently ongoing, with the third round (out of fifteen) starting around the release date of this publication.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

A returning tournament from last year, these are singles and doubles of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The singles are played in a Swiss tournament style, while the doubles are played in Round Robin. Specific game rules apply to each match.
The tournament is currently ongoing. Steamed Hams are being served in doubles.

Mario Kart Wii Time Trials

Following time trial tournaments in previous years, this year's time trial tournament is hosted in Mario Kart Wii. Players have a week for every course to set the fastest time, and the slowest player drops at the end of that. Courses are chosen at random with the exception of the first and last one.
The first course was Luigi Circuit, and the second is DS Delfino Square. The third round is to start the Monday after this publication.

Other games include an upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament and the third Anniversary Scavenger to be hosted by Lakituthequick. A thread is open to gauge interest for a Super Mario Maker 2 versus tournament by Fawfulthegreat64, but thread this isn't active, and while sign-ups for F-Zero GX time trials by Superchao were opened, the turnout was too low to proceed with this game.
Loose ideas for an art contest and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild exist, but are nothing more than that at this time.

Awards

In this part of Anniversary Announcements, I will list all awards that have been discussed, and changes made to them. This includes existing awards, completely new ones and removals, and the additions, removals and changes within each award.

In the last two meetings, the traditional complete review has been done. In this check, all of the awards are once again checked for potential errors, formatting and last-minute changes. Awards that were changed during the complete review are listed again. Very small changes in formatting are omitted for brevity.
