Waluigi's Pinball Arcade is a Showdown minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. It is the Showdown Minigame tied to Waluigi, and is played when a player attempts to recruit him as a Jamboree Buddy. The minigame is heavily inspired by the Mario Kart course Waluigi Pinball, with the aesthetic being similar to the Tour and 8 Deluxe versions of the course.
Introduction
The minigame begins with Waluigi and all the players in an arcade with most things turned off. After a short dance from Waluigi, the lights and pinball machines illuminate where upon the game starts.[1]
Gameplay
The minigame is a game of pinball themed to Waluigi on a neon city. Players must attempt to get the highest score out of all the opponents.
The pinball board has two sets of flippers (one pair near the bottom and one closer to the top), five bumpers (a trio of round bumpers at the top and two triangular ones near the flippers), multiple ramps, a Clear Pipe styled tunnel with coins inside, two gutters, a small screen, and seven light-up spots that spell out "WALUIGI." When spelling out "WALUIGI," one of a few different effects may take place.
Symbol | Effect |
---|---|
Radio Tower | Starts a Multi-ball, launching 4 extra balls into the field |
Blooper | Causes a Blooper to spawn on every other players screen and ink them, limiting their visibility, similarly to the Mario Kart item |
Waluigi Face | Waluigi will walk over and place multiple tokens on the field. |
Waluigi on Blue Background | A board with Waluigi's picture will rise right above the screen. If the ball passes it, it will add 10 points to the score |
Disco Ball | A disco ball will descend. During the time it is down, the player will receive double points for any action they preform. |
The player who recruited Waluigi will start with the Waluigi placing the tokens. If the ball falls into the drain, the player will have to launch the ball again. There is no direct penalty for losing the ball aside from wasting time to shoot the ball back onto the board, and players may relaunch the ball as much as they need to.
Trivia
- The pose Waluigi Strikes in the intro of the minigame is similar to the pose he strikes in the Sound Stage mode in Super Mario Party.
