Type 4-Player minigame
Time limit 10 seconds per round

Hot Cross Blocks is a 4-Player minigame found in Super Mario Party Jamboree. The name is a pun on "hot cross buns."[1]

Introduction

The camera pans from the exit door to the players, who do a ready animation. The camera then pans to a bird's-eye view.

Gameplay

The players need to select one of the four block patterns that appear on the right of screen to traverse over lava. If more than one player picks the same block pattern, none of them will get it. The same will happen if a player selects a block pattern that does not connect to their block path; though the block pattern will still be applied, it will sink immediately after. The first player(s) to make it to the other side win(s). The minigame ends immediately once any player finishes; players who have not finished are ranked based on how far they were away from the goal.

Ending

The players are standing at the exit door where any players who reached the end perform their winning animation, while the losing players do their losing animation behind them.

Controls

  • Single Joy-Con Top Button / Single Joy-Con Right Button / Single Joy-Con Left Button / Single Joy-Con Bottom Button – Select pattern

In-game text

Choose block patterns to build a path across the lava. If you choose the same block pattern as someone else, no one gets it! Blocks that don't connect will sink.
