Mega Rush is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it is found in Tubba Blubba's Castle, inside a hidden room behind a pushable grandfather clock (the badge itself is in another hidden area at the top of the room, accessible by platforming there with the help of Parakarry). In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it can be bought from Charlieton in Rogueport for sixty coins or rarely held and/or dropped by Hammer Bros. If Mario equips it, his attack power increases by five (four in Paper Mario) when he enters Peril, which occurs when his HP reaches exactly one. This badge works alongside others that activate when Mario is in Peril or Danger, such as Last Stand and Close Call. In Paper Mario, the attack power bonus from Mega Rush overrides the bonus from Power Rush. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the attack power bonuses from Mega Rush and Power Rush will stack. Mega Rush P has the same effect, but works exclusively on Mario's partner.

In Paper Mario, when this badge or Power Rush takes effect, afterimages follow Mario as he attacks. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, when this badge takes effect, an exclamation mark appears above the enemy that was attacked.

While it does not appear in the game, the name "Mega Rush Badge" is erroneously used for the sticker of the Power Plus badge in the English version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Merluvlee's predictions in Paper Mario

  • "I see...a Mega Rush Badge. It's inside a hidden room on the second floor of Tubba Blubba's Castle. You push aside a large clock and go in the hole. Inside, you pull out a drawer on the right dresser. You climb up and a Paratroopa carries you to the bed. You then climb up to the top shelf. From there you find your way into the hidden room."
