More DLC? MORE DLC?!
http://store.nintendo.co.uk/wii-u-ddc/the-legend-of-zelda-x-mario-kart-8-aoc-pack-digital-download/10991121.html Apparently this confirms a F-Zero track, an Animal Crossing track, Wario's Gold Mine, 2 unknown tracks, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link, Villager and Dry Bowser, also 8 more vehicles. Is it legit? --Superstarxalien169 17:46, 26 August 2014 (EDT)
:I see it too! EMG can it be? http://nintendonews.com/2014/08/mario-kart-8-dlc-zelda-f-zero-animal-crossing/ Yep it is. I think we can confirm it.

Shy Guy/Yoshi/Mii colors
Hey. I was looking at the Gallery section and noticed that there aren't all of the colors for the steering wheels for the different colors of Shy Guys, Yoshis, and Miis. Could someone put those on there please? It would help expand the website and the article!
- We will have to wait someone ever post those images on the web. I'm pretty sure they're takes from images or videos. TSUNAMI
Rivals
FRIENDLY REMINDER: FOR WHAT RIVALS MEAN, IT JUST MEANS THAT THEY ARE IN THE GAME, THE ORDER THEY PLACE DO NOT MATTER, UNLIKE MARIO KART 7. FOR EXAMPLE, MARIO HAS BOWSER AND PEACH AS HIS RIVALS, THIS DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL BE SECOND OR THIRD IN ANY RACE, THIS JUST MEANS THAT THEY ARE RACING. I HOPE THIS CLEARS IT UP FOR MANY OF YOU AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION :). - Michaelmarill
I know this was touched on before and was left unresolved, but after some extensive play time i can confirm there isn't any rival order or rivals as a matter of fact as the information on the page doesn't match and none of the characters positions in a cup stay the same for 2 or more races. Also most of the time the rival listed doesn't appear, mainly meaning there aren't select characters that'll always appear. Unless someone can provide definite evidence rivals exist, could we get rid of the false information on the page. Cubeguy(talk)
I have seen races where a certain character's rivals aren't always consistent. For example, in one race, Rosalina had Baby Peach and Metal Mario as her rivals, while in another, Larry and Donkey Kong were her rivals. Shy Guy's rivals were also quite random, if I recall correctly. M&SG (talk) 22:00, 3 June 2014 (EDT)
In my opinion there aren't always the same rivals: if you play more Versus round with the same characters (like Lakitu), you can see how the rivals changes: sometimes Waluigi was the rival, sometimes it was Rosalina, sometimes Pink Gold Peach... we should remove that section, it's false! In Mario Kart 8 the CPUs works like in Mario Kart DS: at random. Tsunami (talk)
I still can't see any match ups, i went and played mario kart 7 to see if they have rivals and there actually seem to be rivals in mario kart 7, several specific characters were present in each race and mainly stayed up in the top 3 ranks, i then went back to mario kart 8 and as i said, i couldn't find any match ups. Cubeguy(talk)
I raced exclusively as Koopa through the Grand Prix mode, and in every cup (including Mirror Mode, so 32 cups total), the first two characters in the starting lineup of the opening race were Toad and Yoshi, in that order. They weren't locks to get 2nd and 3rd in the cups, but they rarely finished outside the top 5. That being said, whenever I play versus mode with Koopa, Toad and Yoshi aren't guaranteed opponents. I'm guessing that these "rivals" only apply to Grand Prix. Any thoughts or similar experiences to that? (Also, I'm suggesting that Toad is also a rival of Koopa, which isn't currently listed, if any moderators get their eyes on this post.) picent (talk) 14:08, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
- I have noticed that Toad and Donkey Kong were prone to be Yoshi's rivals, but for characters like Rosalina and Shy Guy, their rivals actually change per GP. This may mean that only certain characters have set rivals, while others do not. M&SG (talk) 17:17, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
I think Toad is a rival for Koopa Troopa, I've played Koopa 4 times in grand prix, and Toad and Yoshi were always maintaining 6th place or above. I don't think Toadette has Wario though... - Michaelmarill
Rosalina does not have Iggy as her rival... try watching this video and see if Iggy is a rival. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRPTCvEDSAc If there are rivals, then it seems like Toadette and Peach are the rivals.
Seems like rivals are shown in grand prix in the MKTV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js7rKKotFj0 Baby Rosalina has Koopa Troopa and Toadette.
Wario is not one of Toadette's rivals, but Yoshi is.
OK, I play 150cc Mushroom and Shell Cup, 1st place with 60 points and 3 stars with Lakitu. I keep an eye on the rivals: Waluigi and Toadette (Mushroom), Pink Gold Peach and Rosalina (Shell). Only two of these four characters appears every cup. Baby Rosalina appears on both cups instead but was out from the top 3 (placed 5th I remember). But the spotlight character of today is Roy: in Mushroom Cup he was overally last with 7 points but in Shell Cup was overally 4th with 36 points. Seriously, what happens Roy? I think I'll play again tomorrowP.S. Someone just leaves 3 comments without a sign. Whoever you are, do you know how to sign in? Tsunami (talk)
SO after some more time i now can see rivals kinda but they still don't match up with the information on the page, they all seem to be completely random, now if im correct theres actually a guide book some stores sell for the gameif any one has it can they check to see if rivals are actually listed in there? - Cubeguy(talk)
In the Banana Cup Lakitu have Wario and Donkey Kong as rivals... OK, or it's random or Lakitu has dozens of rivals. World of Tsunami!
- Right down all the characters you vs in Grand Prix, then again for every other Grand Prix, and see if there are any characters that appear in all of them. That way, we can settle this. Do about 4 Grand Prix at least. - 05:49, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
Okay, played a lot today and here's how things are going, used them 4 times in GP
- Koopa Troopa - Yoshi and Toad
- Ludwig - Daisy and Waluigi
- Lemmy - Rosalina and Bowser
- Donkey Kong - Bowser and Wario
- Toadette - Yoshi and Wario
- Baby Rosalina - Baby Peach and Roy
- Larry - Shy Guy and Iggy
- Baby Luigi - Boswer
- Wario - Mario and Daisy
- Pink Gold Peach - Shy Guy and Baby Mario
- Metal Mario - Toadette
- Toad however, seems to have 3 rivals, I've tried this 10 times now. Waluigi, Daisy, and Koopa Troopa. o_o
- Michaelmarill
- So, is it likely that all characters have three rivals...? There isn't a definite conclusion on these rivals yet, as seen by those earlier comments. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:57, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
Yeah, Baby Luigi has an inconsistency of rivals, so does Rosalina, but she has Pink Gold Peach. And yeah, Toad seems to have 3. - Michaelmarill
Seems we caused this, http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/700050-mario-kart-8/69356223, they have discussed/mentioned other things i have mentioned here, also i still can't find any consistency with the NPC's, they keep changing each cup. So i must ask where did our information for rivals originally come from. - Cubeguy(talk)
- OK but Lakitu? Try playing all 8 cups with different motors (50cc, 100cc, 150cc...) and watch if there are set rivals, because I can't see them. And Toad has rival of Lakitu? I stop playing Tropical Freeze and do Time Trial (because I want to put it in my page after three days and I have only 11/32) for trying this. I'm starting thinking that Lakitu is a jolly. OR... the same rivals are in the same cup on the same engine size? P.S. Yay we make a discussion on GameFaq ^_^ World of Tsunami!
Quickplay of 150cc Star Cup - I play it TWO times (I stop at Dolphin Soals because the CPUs turn into devils). First time = Wendy, Koopa, Ludwig. Second time= Ludwig, Bowser, Peach. And Koopa was 10th. Because of this, I move it there so me can work on it. But I think that won't last for more than two weeks (in my opinion, no offense stupid table) World of Tsunami!
Opponents that appear in every cup | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|

Actually, I think you're missing the point. It's not "the hard racers that come second every time", it's what opponents appear on very cup, no matter how hard they are. - 08:37, 13 June 2014 (EDT)
- I think if they don't end always as fourth in the CPUs a character isn't rival, so the table should be named "list of character that appears in every cup with a specific character" of whatsoever. At least this is my opinion. I'll start trying it with Lakitu. Now I'm not 100% sure of who appear everytime. World of Tsunami!
Ninelevendo is right, they just appear on the course, that's all. That applied to Mario with Peach and Bowser. Also, removing Baby Rosalina's "rivals" because she doesn't have Roy or Baby Peach appearing in each cup. Also, I tried out Waluigi 5 times, and Luigi and Toadette appear everytime, with Toadette always getting 3rd, and Luigi always 2nd.- User:Michaelmarill 08:55, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
OK, I start tracking rivals (?) according to Ninelevendo by doing this: doing the first course of acup, exit, doing the first of another cup and so for 4 cups. Keep track of all the player. I try with 4 characters and those are the results...
Lakitu
Appears 4/4 times:
- Koopa Troopa
Appears 3/4 times:
- Ludwig
- Iggy
- Roy
- Mario
(I do know its rivals are more random than other characters)
Koopa Troopa
Appears 4/4 times:
- Toad
- Yoshi
Appears 3/4 times:
- Rosalina
- Waluigi
Toad
Appears 4/4 times:
- Koopa Troopa
- Waluigi
Appears 3/4 times:
- Lakitu
Waluigi
Appears 4/4 times:
- Luigi
- Koopa Troopa
- Toadette
Appears 3/4 times:
- Rosalina
- Wendy
As you can see, Koopa appears nearly every time. I don't know if it's more common because I start playing with it. If we can found the right rivals for 15~20 or more characters, we can keep this, but if we found different data for about 20 characters, we should delete the table... how about this? World of Tsunami!
That's good, that's how I played for some. Baby Rosalina ended up having none in all after playing her for the 5th time. -.- I guess I'll add Koopa to Lakitu? - Michaelmarill
I'm thinking to mark who appear 4 times with MAJOR or (M) or *, while the others have nothing. World of Tsunami!
I played Shy Guy, and here's how it turns out.
Morton 5/5 Koopa 4/5 Yoshi 4/5 Daisy 3/5 Ludwig 3/5
Baby Mario has Shy Guy and Rosalina.
I'm going to put in just Morton. - Michaelmarill
- Used Baby Luigi again today. Bowser is in neither of the two races I did. He's not Baby Luigi's rival. Ray Trace(T|C) 16:12, 13 June 2014 (EDT)
Alright, I took him out, can you test Baby Peach and check her rivals? I'm going to try Wario again to see which of the 3 rivals to take out. - Michaelmarill
OK, today I'll try the babies in 5 races. Should I keep track of who appears 3/5 times? World of Tsunami!
I'll track the babies as well. I feel that having more than one person check the same character(s) will give us a clearer idea of rivals. Also, the title for this section is "There aren't rivals." Shouldn't this be changed to avoid misleading browsers of the discussion page? Finally, the rivals table was removed. Was this intentional? I cannot find any evidence that this was planned. Yoshimo (talk) 03:02, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
Title: changed at "Rivals". Table: removed personally after seeing that 2nd 3rd and 4th (with Lakitu 1st) change every time. And I think that "rivals" isn't the appropriate title for this, because Koopa Troopa (my starter that yesterday appears 16/16 time) sometimes ended 10th... rival? True rivals are Toad and Yoshi for Waluigi, that (with Waluigi first) ended always in the top 5. Tomorrow I'm going to verify females (Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, PGPeach and Toadette) World of Tsunami!
I start making the babies in my new method. I'm too tired to make Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina now, I'll make them later. Rivals are only x4 and x5. Don't worry of x1 x2 and x3 as they are completely random (I think). And the results are:
x | Baby Mario | Baby Luigi | Baby Peach |
---|---|---|---|
Mario | x3 | x1 | x2 |
Luigi | x2 | x1 | x3 |
Peach | x3 | x2 | x2 |
Daisy | x1 | x1 | x2 |
Rosalina | x2 | x2 | x1 |
Metal Mario | x2 | x1 | x0 |
Yoshi | x2 | x3 (maybe?) | x2 |
Toad | x1 | x0 | x1 |
Koopa Troopa | x0 | x2 | x2 |
Shy Guy | x3 | x1 | x5 |
Lakitu | x2 | x3 (maybe?) | x0 |
Toadette | x0 | x1 | x1 |
Baby Mario | --- | x3 | x1 |
Baby Luigi | x2 | --- | x3 (maybe?) |
Baby Peach | x2 | x3 | --- |
Baby Daisy | x0 | x1 | x3 |
Baby Rosalina | x1 | x2 | x3 (maybe?) |
Pink Gold Peach | x5 | x0 | x2 |
Bowser | x1 | x2 | x1 |
Donkey Kong | x1 | x2 | x2 |
Wario | x2 | x3 (maybe?) | x0 |
Waluigi | x3 | x3 | x1 |
Iggy | x1 | x2 | x1 |
Roy | x0 | x1 | x4 (in last - maybe?) |
Lemmy | x3 (maybe?) | x1 | x3 (maybe?) |
Larry | x1 | x3 | x1 |
Wendy | x4 | x0 | x0 |
Ludwig | x1 | x2 | x2 |
Morton | x1 | x1 | x0 |
The sum of every column should be 60, let me know if there's something wrong (I don't check, making this table took me an hour) World of Tsunami!
SO i chose 6 characters at random being in order of choosing, Daisy, MArio, Waluigi, Lemmy, Shyguy and Pink Gold Peach, went and did every cup with them doing the cup 3 times before moving on and marked down the top 3 characters per-race, excluding self, i excluding characters who appear in general as they are selected at random and as they dont seem to act like rivals excluded them before i started righting this.

The game seems to select them at random but there are higher chances of certain characters being picked. - Cubeguy(talk)
- I played battle mode. As Baby Luigi of course. One thing I noticed was that Luigi and Morton Koopa Jr. had yellow and blue balloons two matches in a row (matches meaning two playthroughs of the rounds). But the third time I battled, they're absent. I haven't noticed anything else. Ray Trace(T|C) 23:28, 14 June 2014 (EDT)
- I'm still not sure if some of you guys get that the positioning doesn't matter AT ALL when it comes to this, it's simply if they are actually are IN the game. - 00:51, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
- @BabyLuigi Characters disappears in the same round? Do you remember if in the first two round there was some changes? Anyway... I'm gonna playing that for the first time (in easy, I don't want a GreenShellFest). @Cubeguy I think that, with few exceptions (Waluigi), tracking only the first 3 CPUs don't help us as keeping track of all (even if it's moooore tiring). A CPU that places 11th/11th in a Cup in the next can place 3rd/11th (it happens to me. I never forget this). For the first four characters I track all characters of the first Cup and I delete them if they don't appear after. I decide to change after thinking that a rival can NOT appear the first time but can in all other times... Anyway, I think that 8 times (8? It's the most tiring thing ever) are too much. Today I'll return to 4 races (not 5) but with 4 characters insted of 3. Things should get faster... @Ninelevendo Thanks to your first reminder I start thinking like I do yesterday (table above), but I don't think that putting a comment like Michelmarill does at the top of the discussion is right... TSUNAMI
- I mean, I played 2 16 round matches. Those two were there. Third time I played, they were gone. There weren't any characters that were still there so "OH POSITION DOESN'T MATTER" doesn't count here. I haven't noticed a permanent opponent probably because there is none. Ray Trace(T|C) 18:27, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
- I'm still not sure if some of you guys get that the positioning doesn't matter AT ALL when it comes to this, it's simply if they are actually are IN the game. - 00:51, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
I did some math and found that the ratio on average for ANY character showing (if every character had an equal chance of appearing) is a bit greater than 40%. In order to determine a true rival, I'd suggest that out of 100 races that a character should appear in about 70 or more. This result comes from that 40 is 60 less than 100 (100 - 40 = 60), so divide 60 in half to get 30 (60 / 2 = 30), and 30 less than 100 is 70 (100 - 30 = 70). What do you mates think? Yoshimo (talk) 02:53, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
- I think that we can do this: 100 : 5 = 20. Way faster to do 100 races (OMG). If a character appears 4 times it is 80 (20 x 4 = 80) and means that is a rival. It's better semplify, but for accurate data we should do 10 races intead of 5 (100 : 10 = 10, 10 x 7 = 70), but that means for me a character per day! It will took a month! Anyway, I'm sure that doing 4 races will be OK (100 : 4 = 25, 25 x 3 = 75) TSUNAMI
The main problem im seeing in this, is the unknown variable of how CPU's are chosen and the amount of characters the game has to choose from being 29, minus the mii, this easily results in characters re-appearing multiple times as less than half the characters are chosen. Also are they really rivals if they just appear in a race with 29 characters choosen at random by an unknown variable system. I know Yoshimo has done math towards it but the unknown nature of the random selection could mean one charcater has could have a 2% higher chance of appearing in a race than another. From the freaking 576 race's i did before i can clearly state that there are rivals but there assigned at random. - Cubeguy(talk)
- If they're chosen at random, then they're hardly rivals at all. I say myth busted. - 04:27, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
This means that 4 races aren't enough? Oh my... Then I should REALLY do 10/15 races per character, tooking 1/2 month/s? Or finally we know that there aren't stupid rivals? TSUNAMI
I'm not sure if the rivals are assigned randomly. I keep playing as Baby Daisy and I do see Luigi frequently, as well as Metal Mario, and this is from two separate play sessions, but I'm still testing. After I'm done doing several races with her, I'll do several separate races in different sessions. Also, to people mentioning that we can round down the races, we need to remember that the more we round down, the more off the experimental ratio will be from the theoretical ratio. *a bit later from initial post* Oh, and I think what Cubeguy is saying is that their positions are random, not the characters assigned. Yoshimo (talk) 04:55, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
I know that positions are random... but (like I say before) Waluigi's rivals (2 out of 3) are in the top 5 when I play with them (a time)... try yourself and let me know. Waluigi's rivals are listed before this post TSUNAMI
I've made a couple of observations about possible rivals. First, the definitive rivals seem to be limited to Grand Prix, not VS Mode. For example, most of my GP races as Bowser featured Mario and Luigi as the two biggest opponents, while in VS races this wasn't the case at all. Second, the designated rivals seem to be always shown last on the "Featured Driver" options (from left to right starting with your playable) on Highlight Edit screen. Again, as Bowser, the Mario Bros. were last on that list. This didn't seem to apply to Baby Daisy though. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 15:50, 20 June 2014 (EDT)
Okay, I just went through all the characters to see who are their rivals. I used the Highlight Reel to help me with this, checking who are the last two racers from left to right. I checked all characters at least two times, three if I needed to check something. Here's the list:
- Mario: Peach & Bowser
- Luigi: Daisy & Mario
- Peach: Toad & DK
- Daisy: Waluigi & Peach
- Yoshi: DK & Toad
- Toad: Waluigi & Koopa Troopa
- Koopa Troopa: Yoshi & Toad
- Toadette: Wario & Yoshi
- Bowser: Luigi & Mario
- DK: Bowser & Wario
- Wario: Daisy & Mario
- Waluigi: Toadette & Luigi
- Everyone else: Randomized
There were also no definitive third rivals, even though Daisy had Koopa Troopa as a close contestant two times in a row. Toadette was the only unlockable racer with set rivals, while Babies Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy as well as Shy Guy are starters without racers. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 13:18, 25 June 2014 (EDT)
- Rivals. I mean rivals. SmokedChili (Talk) (Thoughts) 13:27, 25 June 2014 (EDT)
Okay, I figures it all out, only those revealed at E3 2013 have set rivals, and they actually place high, and always start off at 1st and 2nd respectively. Also, they only rival each other, no one else. New chart in case you guys want to keep the old one.

Hidden Stat Table
A user designed a stat calculator for Mario Kart 8, and was able to implement the hidden stats. Whether or not the following is completely accurate remains to be seen though. The source can be found here. M&SG (talk) 09:01, 3 June 2014 (EDT)
- I think they should be listed like boxer weights are though. Despyria (talk) 04:48, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
- To Baby Luigi if what we're doing is completely "Official" then the stats have to go too. I will rework to a sub category but the revision is good and better explains why they are separated. BTW talk pages help us communicate and make things better... think about using one to converse instead of just doing a revision. To M&SG (talk) This page just looks like tables he used from observation and where he put the baseline. Despyria (talk) 12:14, 17 June 2014 (EDT)
Proposed Character Table Revision
- Statistics and Sub-Classes are 'Unofficial'.
Despyria (talk) 13:03, 17 June 2014 (EDT)
- If someone could force a line break here, that would be fantastic. First order of business would be to make the character icons' organization less ugly. Second would probably be to remove "weight" from the class names. Perhaps change it to "Light," "Bantam," "Medium," "Welter," "Cruiser," "Heavy," and "Superheavy."Yoshimo (talk) 03:20, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- The character thing is rather odd. I didn't make it so I'm not sure why it's rendering differently. Another issue is that their is a glut of Light characters in only 2 classes. Conversely there are 8 Medium in 2 classes and 10 heavy in 3 classes. If you see a better way by all means make the change and let's have a look.Despyria (talk) 10:20, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
Characters
Vehicle Parts
This section might be better served dividing the vehicles, tires and gliders into types and then giving type stats or vica versa. I understand this is the order that they appear but that has little bearing on much of anything. A Wikis object is to be informative not maintain a particular style. Despyria (talk) 04:16, 16 June 2014 (EDT)
- I agree with this, the Characters are handled in categories and it's a much easier read. I guess the only real obstacle is how to deal with names/images; you can get away with thumbnails with the Characters since they're so recognizable, kart parts are another story.
- Also, I don't feel that the stats are "zeroed" properly. This page seems to assume that "Standard" kart parts are all 0, which creates an obvious pattern to how Ground/Water/Air/Anti-Grav Speed and Handling stats break down amongst the non-DLC Characters (one is always a given value higher or lower than the others in the Character stats). If you can find the opposing "trend" in the kart parts and compensate, you get a better idea of what the parts are actually doing for you, and of what advantage/disadvantage there is to picking a "Standard" kart part. To that end, I'd suggest the following changes:
- Anti-Grav Speed, -0.25 to all Characters and +0.25 to all Kart/Bike/ATV Bodies. This is the most obvious one. Again, excluding DLC, every single "Body" part has 0.25 lower Anti-Grav Speed than Ground Speed, whereas every Character has 0.25 higher Anti-Grav than Ground. In effect, the ONLY way outside of the Blue Falcon/Streetle DLC to achieve an Anti-Grav Speed higher than your Ground Speed is to select a Body of the "Standard Kart" family
- Anti-Grav Handling, -0.25 to all Characters and +0.25 to all Kart/Bike/ATV Bodies. Same above but less obvious because the "Landship" family drops Anti-Grav Handling regardless. All other Bodies follow the same pattern as with Speed, though.
- Water Speed, -0.5 to all Characters and +0.5 to all Tires. In the current chart, literally every Tire that is not of the "Standard" or "Roller" family drops Water Speed, while all characters have Water Speed 0.5 higher than Ground Speed. Making this adjustment syncs up the Water Speed stat to the Ground Speed in the "Metal," "Slim," and "Monster" Tire families. The "Roller" family's Water Speed matches up to its Air Speed boost as well. Finally, this more clearly illustrates that the Standard tires are the only Tires that will leave you with a higher Water Speed without sacrificing Ground Speed.
- Air Handling, +0.25 to all Characters and -0.25 to all Gliders. Probably the most debatable change, but after the above, Air Handling is the last piece of the puzzle in getting non-DLC Characters to match up their Ground/Water/Air/Anti-Grav stats. There are only two Glider stat families, so you can't pick out a trend as you can with Bodies and Tires. Still, the combination of your Character and your Glider will always end up with one of your Air stats being lower than all others (heavy gliders drop Air Handling and lighter gliders drop Air Speed). Making the switch would more clearly show that within the Glider stats, rather than having to jump between Gliders and Characters.

New information: Unlockables
I have a bit of information I just discovered. But, seeing as I'm not "experienced" enough on SMWiki, I can't add to the article. Whoever can, please feel free to add this in my stead.
In the article, it says something along the lines of "Mii is always unlocked by getting gold in every cup in a class, like in Mario Kart 7." I've discovered that in addition to this, s/he can be unlocked by random like each of the other characters, in addition to the "every cup" method.

Why is Mario Kart 8's page protected?
I was going to add a beta element and some glitches, but I find out that the page is protected so I cann't edit. Can someone remove the protection or edit for me? Tsunami (talk)
- It's because the game was recently released.UhHuhAlrightDaisy (talk) 03:36, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
- OK, I hope that I can edit soon... until the protection expires, I'll wait. Tsunami (talk)
- It was mainly protected like other unreleased games to prevent loads of speculation going in. Wait until you're autoconfirmed which should be in a few days. Yoshi876 (talk)
- I had some stuff to add too, but I'll wait I guess. I do want to note that someone added that all tracks are available in Battle Mode, without a source. Something that's so obviously false if you have the game.NoseOverdose (talk)

Unlockable Parts
The Unlockable Parts section says there are 48 unlockable parts (excluding golden), going regularly up to 3800 coins, but there are in fact only 38 (again, excluding golden), going up to 2800 coins. To verify, just count the list of parts for yourself.
- That's true, there are 38 parts and 2800 Coins (I've reached that number of Coins in the game, I'm sure about that)! P.S. Whoever you are, remember to sign your username! Tsunami (talk)
Star Cup trophy
I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this, but on the back of the star cup there is a faded picture of Luma. Should this be trvia?--Poponana2 (talk) 15:52, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
- Nah. It's just an obvious fact that anyone can see and isn't important enough to count as trivia. - 17:21, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
Unlocking characters
The part on unlocking characters says you can't unlock a character by completing the same GP at the same level twice, but this is inaccurate; if you win with more stars than you ever have before, you can unlock a character, even if you've unlocked a character at the same level before. So if you win the 100CC Mushroom cup with no stars, then win it again with 1 star, you'll unlock a character both times.--107.223.169.124 22:06, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
- I don't know if it's true (I won all 50cc and 100cc throphies with 3 stars from the start), someone should prove it. Another question: if you get 3 stars in a trophy, completing it again with 3 stars means unlocking two cahracters? If everyone have unlocked at least 13 characters someone shall delete its data and try this. Or maybe buy the game again. ^_^ Tsunami (talk)
- To answer your question no completing a 3 star twice wont unlock a character also a video from the youtube channel Gamexplain actually stated that only 1 character can be unlocked per completion of each cup. If i got this wrong its mainly because i havnt rewatched the video in its entirety because its a long video. - Cubeguy(talk)
Mario Kart Stadium Cover
In regards to the trivia point where it is stated that Mario Circuit is a cover of Mario Kart Stadium, where does this conclusion come from? Is it because Mario Kart Stadium is the first course that makes it the "original" theme? I would argue that it's the other way around, in which Mario Kart Stadium is a cover to Mario Circuit, for two reasons: One, this course is created first, as mentioned by the developers themselves. Two, this is the first course that is revealed (back in E3 2013), way before Mario Kart Stadium was revealed, so its theme is known first. This also applies to the point mentioned in Mario Circuit (Wii U), which stated the same thing.
This point is not necessarily relevant to what I am saying, but it reminded me of the point of Miyamoto's mentioning on making the first level last. Winstein (talk) 22:34, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
- If anything, Mario Kart Stadium's theme is a cover of Mario Circuit since we heard that theme first. Tails777 Talk to me!
Glitch
I was playing in Toad Harbor and then in the anti-gravity section, I made the second jump and fell and landing on the second anti-gravity pad, I went right through it. I was playing with Daisy in Mirror mode, I don't know if that glitch works on any other character or if you play without mirror. Rosapuff (talk) 05:47, 6 June 2014 (EDT)
- Thanks for the info, but you cann't edit the page... I have glitches to add, too, but until you become an autoconfirmed user (wait three days and apply five edits)/the page won't be protected anymore we cann't add this. I'll try it today. Tsunami (talk)
I can't reproduce this glitch in the game, it might have been a one-off, like in Mario kart 7 when i started mirror mode the game thought i was going off the map, really annoying...anyway video proof would be nice and maby some more specifics like the conditions you where in such as getting hit by an item, using a boost, getting rammed that kind of thing. - Cubeguy(talk)

Blue shell gets confused
Don't know how people have missed this, when the blue shell reaches a multiple path section, like rainbow roads split or dolphin shoals pipe section the blue shell is capable of taking the wrong path and missing the player in first requiring to do a full lap, this also applys to red shells. This mainly happens if you switch directions or in the case of the new rainbow road jump to another part of the course. So this is a rare glitch. - Cubeguy(talk)
- That's true, I'll add it. Tsunami (talk)
- NOTE:This happens alot in Yoshi Valley
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Flappy Bird (talk).- It don't happens only here (even if is way more commn, it's a maze), but in other races too. Sometimes a Red Shell don't notice me and go straight... P.S. When Red Shells are throwed during a battle in Yoshi Valley and the target is over the wall what happens? The shell goes to the wall and destroys itself? TSUNAMI

- So, you see an Item Box that you can't found in offline at you get an item by passing through it, but you cann't press the item button in order to receive the item faster. I got it right? If yes, ill add it to the glitches. Tsunami (talk)

Something similar occurs in Mario Kart 7 where the Item Boxes don't break if your opponents graze them. From what I'm reading, he is saying that if they don't break but the opponent still obtained the Item Box then if you get an item from that same Item Box, you are not able to press the item button to stop the roulette. More DLC Materials?
A Smash Boards user came across some images that suggest some additional DLC materials, but the only reported source seems to be from n1ntendo.nl; a Dutch Nintendo site. The first image suggests that Shine Thief and Bob-omb Blast would appear as additional Battle Mode options, while the second image shows E. Gadd, Birdo, Plessie, Diddy Kong, and a Magikoopa (presumably Kamek) being extra racing participants. More proof will be needed though, as the user failed to post a direct link to the source. For a fake, that image does seem well-made though. It apparently has some users fooled into thinking that it's real. M&SG (talk) 09:04, 9 June 2014 (EDT)
Maybe someone hacks it... but the photos aren't from a recording card so it's difficult to know. But I think Plessie? In a kart? It will be shrunked again like Rosalina does? And I think that everyone can simply custom the rules in Baloon Battle so they can use Bob-Ombs only. It'll be a dream, and only Nintendo knows the true. I hope it will be true, but until that, none shall add this World of Tsunami!

- It looks fake to me; Diddy Kong's colors are a tad too saturated; the cursors around Donkey Kong are a tad out of proportion,, and how will this layout work in multiplayer? Oh, and just because artwork is reused doesn't make it fake. Many real characters' heads are reused from existing artwork, such as Koopa Troopa. Still, I'm skeptical. Look at E. Gadd's head. It doesn't match the others, nor E. Gadd's typical design, and overall looks extremely odd. Peanutjon (talk) 21:40, 9 June 2014 (EDT)
I could probably believe the top one cause the wiiU gamepad has the same image, either that or someones great at photoshop, but this is fake, unless the images actual source can be found or nintendo come out from there DLC phobia state and announce it, its unreliable and fake, also plessie as a character is pretty strange, but we can dream for that day a Mario kart game features everyones favourites. Well, I hope it will be true, at least the characters. Here's another pic of the pic. except the reflection on the border of the TV screen has been zoomed in.
You can see it says "Mario Kart DLC Pack" That an outrageous amount of effort to make a fake. My belief on it being true went for 50% to 80%
Also, about Plessie, I'm sure Nintendo may shrink him down into the right size. They did it before with Petey Piranha, King Boo, Wiggler and Queen Bee (and, in my opinion, with Bowser and Dry Bowser).--BlooP-OW (talk) 14:53, 10 June 2014 (EDT)
If these characters are coming, I think they would be used from Amiibos, which would give you the character and kart parts with it? I don't know, just what I think may happen. - Michaelmarill (talk)
OK, maybe that's true as Amiibo figures. None knows, but probabily Amiibos idea works. If released, I'm running to get Kamek + Plessie :) World of Tsunami!
AAAAAAAAANNNDD it's not fake if you watch the IGN video at the amiibo section below at the end it says that amibbos will be released for MARIO KART 8. Now who's right? :D But I still don't know how to unlock Shine Thief and Bom-Omb Blast :/ And Plessie will be shrunked, making it the 5th shrunked character in the Mario Kart series (I don't think that Bowser is shrunked. Actually is giant in SO many games that I actually don't know its real size xD) World of Tsunami!
- Just because amiibos are confirmed for Mario Kart 8, doesn't mean these characters are automatically confirmed as well. We only know MK8 amiibos will exist. The ones for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U are of characters that are already playable in-game. Who knows what will happen? BabyLuigi64
- Plus, why would it say "DLC Pack" if amiibos were used for these characters? BabyLuigi64
- Still surprised that BJ isn't there. Even though Queen Bee was resized she flew over the kart not actually sitting in it, like King Boo. That E. Gadd just looks seriously fake or very under-developed. And please don't say shrunked. Say shrank or something. - 17:23, 12 June 2014 (EDT)

Found where the photoshopper got the base for his images, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVkjQ8WAtsQ , they match up pretty well also, http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/06/rumour_mario_kart_8_dlc_to_feature_expanded_roster_and_new_battle_modes , - Cubeguy(talk)
- Maybe amiboos DO NOT expand roster or battles but just store EXP like in SSB for WiiU. Mmmh... I don't know. P.S. The background of the bottom photo! In the right it seems that it turned into Mario Circuit from this game. So it's fake? I don't think that Nintendo wants to change the background P.P.S. Even if the images are reused Nintendo does the same. Check Baby Peach's gallery, artworks for Super Mario Sluggers (reused from Mario Kart Wii and Mario Tennis Open are the same World of Tsunami!
It's possibble that the Battle mode images are fake, but the new character list can be real. --BlooP-OW (talk) 13:02, 13 June 2014 (EDT)
I think the same World of Tsunami!
Some of you guys are just speculating on whether this image is real or fake but I believe it's 100% fake. 1. If it's not truly confirmed, then there isn't any actual need to worry about it at least for now. Like the case for Diddy Kong on that magazine showing that he's in the game but turned out to be a lie, we can't truly believe every leak for any new game no matter HOW legit it may look until it's been confirmed.
2. A lot of people haven't seen very many Dlc packs for their games from Nintendo so how can we tell what they would look like most times?
3. You guys know if there's been any links leading to where these images originated from or sites that tell where these images or certain other possibly faked dlc images came from then you'd know if they were fake because of the original site from the original craftsmakers' page.
-Have been supplying links to show its fake, wish your explanation came sooner to end this. - Cubeguy(talk)
Better late than never. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)
But I have a feeling it could be real. I think amiibos would work' or there could be DLC. Joseph (talk) (contribs)
Update: Now that we have Link and Animal Crossing DLC, I think it's safe to say that this leak is fake. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 20:02, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
- I have a feeling. E. Gadd and Kamek were beta characters in previous Mario Karts. Kamek was replaced by DK in Mario Kart 64, and E. Gadd was replaced by Dry Bones in Mario Kart DS.
Question
I would know if the Gold Standard can be also unlocked by collecting 20 000 coins like in Mario Kart 7 ? Because Gold Glider and Gold Tires are added, but not for Gold Standard. 109.213.182.148 09:31, 9 June 2014 (EDT) Maybe none makes it to 20000 Coins and unlocks the Gols Standard in the other way... maybe I can try, but it'll take much time World of Tsunami!
Actually, I have 1700 coins, I will try as I don't want to play as 150cc or mirror. I means if its not already say somewhere on Internet (and I cannot edit the page if I found). 109.213.182.148 11:08, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

Maps
Hey, I noticed that since some of the retro courses like Wario Stadium have completely different layouts, the MK8 map should be uploaded to those pages. Yoshilover76 (talk) 22:45, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

Glitch?
More of an aesthetic glitch...
In SNES Donut Plains 3, on the first bridge, if you drive over the left most part of the hole where it is smallest, you will fall underwater for a second and then make it back up on the bridge somehow. BabyLuigi64

- I know, it's not a glitch. It's neither a shortcut I think. Probabily the wheels touch water but can still make it to the bridge. Because of this, they do so and I found this before you :P World of Tsunami!
- But then why is the whole vehicle and character wet afterwards? BabyLuigi64
- The game recognizes as the character being underwater even though the character doesn't appear to be, I'm guessing. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:20, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
- Maybe the game is programmed making that exiting from water make the character wet. The kart must first touch water though and here it happens for some frames (I think about 7 frames). But today in Time Trial I get on the spotted bridge and I pass on the gap without touching water. I DO NOT press B (I play with Wii Remote + Nunchuk) for jumping that time... World of Tsunami!

The way the game figures out whether to make the vehicle and character wet is by how far in the vehicle is into the water; strangely, this is not very far, and you can test this by looking for a tiny splash moving slowly towards water. The result is that the bridge has some coding on it to allow you to be on its edges and not fall off, resulting in the ability to go over that hole and come back up while going the minimum distance required to make the character and vehicle wet. A/amiibo
From the recent revision history, it appears there's some disagreement on whether to capitalize the name of Nintendo's upcoming line of character figurines. Nintendo's official E3 site (http://e3.nintendo.com/amiibo/) consistently spells it "amiibo" (well, or "amiibo™"), all lowercase. Is there a precedent for how the wiki should treat this, or do we need a Talk Page Proposal? --Steve470 (talk) 02:31, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
- And if there is a TPP, it'll probably need three options: capitalize always, capitalize only when starting a sentence/section title, or always use all lowercase. --Steve470 (talk) 02:35, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
- I think it should be capitalized when starting a sentence/section only; the webpage also never uses "amiibo" at the beginning of a sentence. After all, for "article section headers, only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalized", so I think the same should apply to "amiibo". MarioComix (talk) 03:45, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
DS Wario Stadium image is Twisted Mansion?
It used to be the right image but today it changed to the Twisted Mansion image and not DS Wario Stadium. There is nothing wrong with the table, but the image is the wrong one. I tried reuploading it but it's still Twisted Mansion. If someone knows how to fix this please do. Siwel619 (talk) 14:01, 12 June 2014 (EDT)
Important Editing Issues
This page is being over edited and done in mass to make the article worse not better. I've worked on this wiki for years now and I haven't seen the extent of ticky tack things that you're doing with this one. To address a couple of issues; wholesale reversions is a bad thing. I understand that a lot of that was capitalization, but not all. There was some really bad headers, titles, syntax, and uniformity edits I did. Yoshi876 you undid all of them. To that reversion Titles aren't sentences. Titles are Headers and in Headers all words are capitalized except articles (of, the, an, et. al.) and articles inside of titles/headers should be avoided as much as possible, i.e. "The Hounds of Baskerville" is acceptable because of the necessity of needing to know where the Hounds are from. But the idea that you write titles/headers as a sentence flies in the face of 99.9% of all titles headers everywhere. All office programs will even suggest that you capitalize everything that is given the text weight of a header. Books, Magazines, Articles, Chapters, Albums, Songs, Businesses, Organizations, Plays, Acts, Job Titles, Professions, even Video Games, and areas within video games all tiles and all Capitalized except articles within titles. You don't write Shy guy falls like this you write it Shy Guy Falls... because it's a title.
To address the 'Official' notion. This is not given the Nintendo seal. It's all unofficial. Much of this is observational, but still unofficial. The stats are very unofficial. If it's source code as one person has suggested it's hacking, which is in violation of the ToS and EULA for the software so it'd be very unofficial... and slightly illegal.
In short when someone puts in effort to make things better don't stifle it and stop being heavy handed. This article isn't good. I made it a little better, TWICE. Both times I have been stymied and I have helped make good articles here in the past. I would hope you would value longtime contributors and good editors. Because I'm not feeling it. Despyria (talk) 11:08, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- The reason I undid those edits is the sitenotice, at the top of every page which clearly states "In article section headers, only the first word and proper nouns should be capitalized. Help out by removing unnecessary capitalizations while you edit." This was something decided upon by admins for the better of the wiki. Yoshi876 (talk)
- It's not his fault that you don't like wiki rules. This is likely an issue that if you had a problem with, you could just ask why he reverted it instead of writing a giant complaint, when you could of simply just asked and reasoned with someone about the matter. And about "The Hounds of Bakersville", most of the things you make caps weren't proper nouns. Sorry if I'm coming off as mean or angry. - 11:21, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- It's incorrect capitalization. It makes the site look amateurish and improper. The capitalization is proper English Usage. The bigger issue is why are you more concerned with this wikis weird capitalization than good edits? At least half of what you reverted back to was seriously bad writing... from overly descriptive titles, bad syntax, and conflicting ideas, wrong information, and more. Let us ignore that your "unnecessary capitalization" breaks the rules of English Usage, you reverted real editing to get back to something that was worse. You could have spent less than a minute on the capitalization in a quick edit. But you went lazy when I was skimming and doing real edits that took time and some actual thought.

- Ninelevendo I understand that you might be angry, which is fine, a bit odd but fine, but what you were trying to do is be cleaver. You didn't quite make it. The Hounds was to show use of article and that was clearly stated. However you want examples better suited to your every situation? Music; Back in Black, Same Old Song and Dance, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, Love's a Loaded Gun... onto literature; Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Leaves of Grass, The Sound and the Fury, Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, Light in August, Return of the King, Comedy of Errors, Measure for Measure (that's right I just dropped the Bard Bomb)... I could go on and on, like Director of Communication. If you weren't trying to come off as mean or angry... and flame you, would have recognized that. Despyria (talk) 12:12, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- I take offence to you accusing me of laziness, what I did was comply with wiki policy which is not that lazy actually. As for the other, I went for consistency which is greatly encouraged. So what I'm doing is not lazy, I am complying with wiki policy. If you don't like it, create a proposal on it rather than accuse people who are following wiki standards of being lazy. Yoshi876 (talk)
- You're going to take it however you like. Fact? The Capitalization is the smallest of the edits that I did. If you looked at what was actually done and you'd of known this. If you looked at the notes you'd also know this. Ironically you looked at neither. You missed the consistency edits the revising clumsy titles, better wording, and correction of syntax errors. Instead you pushed the button and didn't really read anything. Call that what you want... every time I've done something like that, it was laziness. Despyria (talk) 22:33, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- I did read through them actually, hence why I hit rollback instead of going through each and every single one of them. In my opinion they had been better worded beforehand, your change that made "Gaming References" is inconsistent with the rest of the wiki, hence the change. I'll admit I was wrong on the stats thing, and so for that i apologize, but everything else reverted was just your capitalization which is against wiki policy, wording that as I stated I felt was better beforehand, and you changing "References to other games" to something inconsistent with the rest of the wiki. So call it whatever you like, but I did read through the entire thing, and whilst I made one mistake in the reversion, the rest was entirely correct. Also, with the mistake I did make, you could've simply gone and changed it, as long as you cited it being more consistent then everything would've fine, instead you chose to come here and argue. Yoshi876 (talk)
- So Characters in one part and Drivers in another in a single section is a good thing? Ok. References to other games is a hideous header. Short simple and descriptive. several minor errors that I don't remember and going through line by line I really don't have the time for... but I know that I could go through and change the capitalization on the headers of the last 3 MK games and back in less than 5 minutes. It takes a lot mor time than that to do other edits. Be lazy I don't care. You lose someone willing to put in some time to do trivial stuff. Whatever. You scream louder and in wiki/net, that wins. Congrats. Despyria (talk) 02:27, 20 June 2014 (EDT)

I hope I'm not being irrelevant but I believe part of the reason we've decided for header titles to only capitalize proper nouns is because Wikipedia does that too, so I suppose we're following the "grandfather of Wikis" procedure. MarioComix (talk) 17:13, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- This was likely done because the system of the music name titles you mentioned doesn't cut it for titles or sub titles on an article. That naming still applies to the games name, however, such as Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. - 17:46, 18 June 2014 (EDT)
- MarioComix I don't find it irrelevant at all. However I think it's a bit misguided. Coders and usage rules have never tended to go hand in hand. Partly because of the shear volume of code people would write and then they got lazy/tired when not coding and did all sorts of short cuts. In the early days of Wikis, before Wikipedia was becoming a standard, It was really the Wild Wild West. I remember being a sheriff of a couple of wikis (Largely because I would ignore things in email rings and wouldn't scream "NOT ME!" until it was too late) and our biggest issues would be just getting people to sign their stuff and maintain some uniformity of style. There was a lot of short cuts that were used then that aren't use now... like 1337 speak. But as for the Wikipedia it's hardly the model of consistancy... it usually goes to the person that spends all their time watching wiki pages and not to what is correct. No, the horn only makes other characters stare at the player for a brief second. It doesn't do anything else that I know of. However the Super Horn is more useful. User:Nintendoplayerawesome
Item Box Colors

The word bonus just means you get something extra for free, so using the word bonus isn't incorrect. A bonus game also doesn't have to be a small game like Luigi Bros. to be a bonus. Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 promotion gives you a free game as a bonus, so that's why people call it a Bonus Game Promotion. The promotion is indeed called Free Game Promotion on Nintendo's US site, but it's called a Bonus Game Promotion on Nintendo's UK site. This may have made the situation a bit confusing. Arend (talk)

I ask because there have been a few edits related to vehicles/parts in Mario Kart 8 that seem to be direct translations of their English names, and yet the NOE Portuguese version of the game, which I own, provides completely different names for said vehicles/parts, which have entirely different meanings.
Take the Circuit Special for example, one of the kart bodies in Mario Kart 8. As I said, I am in possession of the NOE Portuguese translation, which calls it "Flash", yet the current revision (at the time this was written) calls it "Circuito Especial". If someone could clarify this for me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Relevant pages: this and this (see Arend's edit - European Portuguese is the only Portuguese translation at this point, so the not-European name is incorrect. Also, since European Portuguese is the only Portuguese, NOE is not needed.)

- for what it's worth, I typed in "Mario Kart 8 brasil" on youtube search and all the videos I got from Brazillian players were in English. We've always had idiots "translating" names by running the Englisn name through Google translate, so until someone can show proof a Brazillian portuguese translation exist, I'm ok with deleting the literal translations. --Glowsquid (talk) 19:30, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
- Glowsquid Indeed, I feel the same way as well. I am tempted to revert these "incorrect" (well, they ARE incorrect if there's no Brazilian Portuguese translation, right?) edits myself. However, I'm wondering... What if the same user who made these changes in the first place ends up reverting them back? Basically, what would be the best way to deal with this, in order to comply with the Wiki's rules? --2.81.199.68 19:43, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
if a concensus (ie: more than the two of us) emerges than a Brazillian NOA translation Don Exits, you can get to the task of deleting the bogus translation and messaging the IP that originally added them. If they have a dynamic IP, there's a chance they won't see the message, but if any reverting happen, you can just leave a message on their talk or direct them toward here. As long as you don't engage in edit warring, you'll be fine.
that being said, there' some Brazilian users around here so I messaged one of them for input on this matter. --Glowsquid (talk) 20:00, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
- Understood. Thank you for your attention. --2.81.199.68 20:23, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
so I got a reply from the brazilian user in question and it was:
I haven't seen a translated version of the game here, only the original english version. I have seen some of the Portuguese names for Mario Kart 8 things in the wiki, and, if the Mario Kart 7 Portuguese translation is anything to go by, the translations wouldn't be so literal. Pink Gold Peach's supposed portuguese name as seen in her page definitely doesn't make grammatical sense, though, and sounds like something Google Translate would give you.
so yeah, I'd say you (or anyone else) can go ahead and delete them. --Glowsquid (talk) 19:58, 23 July 2014 (EDT)
So, let me tak: I am brazilian, and WiiU games didn't get a translations yet, just for characters and items (found in game manuals). Nintendo was contracting Brazilian translators, but IDK what happened to them User:Ashley anEoTselkie/sig
Uuh.
Why 15000 coins for gold tires gets removed ? The Gold Tires's article say always it and the way is same that Mario Kart 7. Should I gets 15000 coins for prove it (I have actually 7000) ?
109.213.190.196 13:58, 26 July 2014 (EDT)
- I suppose, no one has proven it yet. Make sure you don't beat all staff ghosts. And, if you can, play multiplayer, as both player add Coins to total. Good luck, I have about the half of your coins, I didn't play it much :/ TSUNAMI
I removed it because there's no actual proof. See history: Revision as of 11:02, July 12, 2014
The source that was previously given for the 15,000 coins criteria (a photo of a page of the Mario Kart 8 Prima Guide - paper version) in fact did not mention it at all, and someone kindly provided a screenshot of the exact same page in the digital version of the guide: i.imgur.com/94yzJY0.png where it doesn't appear either.
So, unless someone has a video proof of the 15,000 coins unclock message, there's no reason to keep it. Thanks, I updated the Gold Tires article accordingly.
WARNING: there's a small bug in the game, you don't have to beat the N64 Rainbow Road staff ghost to unlock the Gold Tires, as mentioned here Gold Tires do not require N64 Rainbow Road time trial staff ghost and checked myself. So if you'd like to do the 15,000 coin test, do not beat all ghosts but the N64 Rainbow Road one thinking it won't unlock the Gold Tires, because it will. Skip at least one staff ghost on some other track too. If you do not have a video capture device, take a picture of the 15,000 coin unlock message if it is real, but a video would be better to prevent montages.

- Well, 15000 Coins are an utopia for me. Until August 10th I cann't play with my Wii U (vacation) but then I'll try. Mainly because I cann't accept that CPUs kick my ass repeately in 150cc, forcing me to retry for 3 stars. MKDS and MK7 was MUCH easier. Even MKWii seems a breeze confronted to MK8, because there I got a One-Star Rank (Dry Bones FTW) in some way. But I don't think I can do it. I hit myself with my Green Shell four/five times in multiplayer. But if I will ever get to 15000 Coins, teach me where and how to upload a video. They will be surely of low-quality, proving that I don't modify it. Oh, and anyway, I don't have Photoshop. I nearly don't know what's it... my combo: Lakitu/Landship/Rollers/MKTV Parafoil. But I'm planning on using the Slick. Until then, let's just hope that the wheather don't is cloudly with Blue Shell precipitations. Sometimes, in other games happened (MK7, get hitted by 10 Blue Shell in a cup once). And it's not good. TSUNAMI
I have not try Time Trials yet, I will wait to have the 3 gold parts by coins before, I don't play in 150cc and mirror also for the prove about the 20000 coins for the gold kart. ;) Anyway... I cannot send photos for prove as I have never try to puts photo from SD card or camera in the computer. :/ Change for 50cc Tsunami, its what I do because CPU are less fast (but still can combo thunder and blue shell).
109.213.71.138 06:34, 1 August 2014 (EDT)
@109.213.71.138 I could. In fact, I found MK8 50cc slightly faster than 50cc from other games. But when you have 3-starred MKDS and MK7 and 1-starred MKWii (that is hard) being unable to 3-star MK8 make you felt like a noob. I am still a seminoob though. I suck at RPGs and playing with keyboard. That's why I like to play with my mom, that sucks completely :D. A thing that I don't liked from this game are the overly hard CPUs (that let you win in some tracks, in others like Dolphin Soals it's like they want your head) and the stupid star method (you have to win always to get 3 stars. CPUs want your head. UGH). In fact, if I remember correctly (I haven't played MK8 solo for a while), I played 100cc with my friend Lakitu to unlock all the ordinary things. Strangely, in 100cc CPUs don't want your head, everything was easy. And yes, I suck with heavyweights. I took less time with an almost perfect light run than with a messy heavy run. I got a very good run with a very slow kart in Mario Kart Stadium (a sub 1.50 if I remember right). This is why I prefer lights all the way. In MKWii I prefer Dry Bones over Funky Kong. And so on. TSUNAMI
I have 3-star in all cups in 50 and 100cc. 109.213.71.138 07:52, 1 August 2014 (EDT)
Gold Glider finally unlocked, now I can see if Gold Tires can be gets with 15000 coins or no. If this is corect, then the Gold Kart can surely be gets by 20000 coins as in Mario Kart 7. Do you wish that I send you a photo if I have unlocked the Gold Tires by 15000 coins ? (its me, 109.213.71.138) 109.213.181.245 07:54, 5 August 2014 (EDT)
- To upload an image you must be registred and autoconfirmed, aka wait 3 days and make at least 5 edits. I don't have any email account, but if you wish, I'll ask to some of my friends if they have an email account and if they can be contacted. TSUNAMI
- Or anyway, I post the link for the image, if that work. But I must say you first that I am an french, so the image of proof will not be english.

It's me 109.213.190.196. I have finally 15000 coins and result, Gold Tires are not unlocked. Also I have see some glitches:

Count as trivia?
Had a thought about this, would the unlockable characters that are now default playable characters on a new game count as trivia? - Cubeguy(talk)
- What? Let me know if I interpret you right: "Would the fact that the unlockable characters unlocked are avaible from start when you start playing by using another Mii profile count as trivia?" If so I think yes, it could. But it could also be a minor glitch. TSUNAMI
I dont even understand myself with what i said. I meant characters from previous games that where unlockable, but are now playable by default on a NEW game with no data on it. Somewhat count as trivia. - Cubeguy(talk)
I think he means that Baby Daisy and Shy Guy for the first time are starter characters instead of unlockable (Baby Daisy in Mario Kart Wii is unlockable, Shy Guy in Mario Kart 7 is unlockable) [[User:Trainiax|Mario Kart Master]] #MarioKartMaster #MK8 (talk) 19:26, 7 August 2014 (EDT) I still don't understand. In MKWii, when my mom starts another profile, I had already unlocked the characters, but she had they blocked. And Rosalina, along with Metal Mario and Lakitu, aren't unlockable in all games where they appear? TSUNAMI
Locked characters are supposed to be locked for every profile. If that isn't occurring in MK8, it should be noted. Those 3 characters mentioned are locked in all games where they appear. MarioComix (talk) 01:55, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
- Tsunami, characters are supposed to blocked on other peoples save files if they haven't unlocked it yet on their save file. You've unlocked it, but that was on your save file, not hers. As for Rosalina and etc., Metal Mario has neva been default before, same with Rosalina and Lakitu. I basically repeated what the guy above me said. Anyway, it isn't really all that noteworthy, but it would probably be better on the characters articles instead of going onto trivia sections. - 02:01, 8 August 2014 (EDT)
That is what i meant Trainiax. - Cubeguy(talk)
Zelda and Animal Crossing DLC Packs
They're real, and I've added them to the article. References are included, although news articles about it can also be found at the following links:

So yeah. Looks like we need to make pages for this content, including the new Animal Crossing characters, as well as start planning coverage for the new karts and tracks that have also been announced.
How shall this be added?
So I found some images of more DLC stuff. I would like to know, should we add in all the colors for Yoshi and Shy Guy, and the 3 cups being the Triforce Cup, Animal Crossing Cup, Egg Cup, and the Super Bell Cup (Not real names). And where should it go, just in the DLC section?
YoshiGo99 00:00, 27 August 2014 (EDT)
- As for now, I suggest to put all unconfirmed stuff in DLC section and respective cups, the latter case a Add-On content (DLC) section. I will now provide to add new character's icons. TSUNAMI
It may not be confirmed yet but knowing Dry Bowser appeared in Mario kart wii, you almost know that he'll be added again to the heavyweight class like his origin counterpart Bowser. If you guys rather wait to be sure that's fine but just remember that he was heavy weight before and the new DLC images kind of show that too. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)
Excite bike track
Yeah if you have a closelook at the bottom left of pack 1 you can actually tell its excitebike, theres also apparetly an f-zero course so, just saying, take note. - Cubeguy(talk)
Alternate colors
also another thing gone by can someone work out where to mention the alternate colors for shyguy and yoshi thanks. - Cubeguy(talk)
Ok so i got the colors and they are as follows, Red, Cyan, Black, Green, Yellow, White, Blue, Pink, Orange for both, so if someone could add that for me that would be great, since my nets clunky. - Cubeguy(talk)

Does this count as trivia?
Is Mario kart 8 the only one in the series with add on content or would that not count since Mariokart Gp DX also has Rosalina and Metal Mario as dowloadable plus a little more? I just have to make sure as Mario kart 8 is a mainstream game. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)
- This is obvious, doesn't count as trivia in my opinion. TSUNAMI
- Just saying this but arcade machines don't get DLC since there not a home console, its more of a software update if anything. - Cubeguy(talk)
- So do we need to put that in Mario Golf: World Tour, Mario Tennis Open, etc.? When technology advances, it doesn't automatically turn into trivia. If we were to put this, it's like saying that NSMB is the first Super Mario Bros. game to use touch screen controls. So no. - 07:59, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Is it necessary?
Is it necessary to have each of shyguys and yoshis color images for the character stats, there the exact same character with a palate swap. There's no different stats for the other colors? - Cubeguy(talk)
- Yeah, they are likely the same, but I think they should be here. They are only different versions of the character. See the character of Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix DX, where Dry Bowser is palette swap of Bowser, but still counts as character. Same as here. TSUNAMI
Shy Guy Falls Glitch?
Today (or yesterday, depends on where you live xD) I was playing MK8 online, the map was Shy Guy Falls. When I was driving up the waterfall, someone hit my kart and I turned 90° and rammed the left wall. When I was trying to steer in the right way, it didn't let me, and the water still pushed me down (slowly). So I turned left, drove down a bit, and when I tried to change the direction back to normal, I hit the other wall and had the same problem. I solved this with a spin drift (at least I didn't lose the match). Does that count as a glitch? Sorry for my bad english, as you may know, I'm one of the admins from the german MarioWiki. ––MeincraftManu (talk) 19:17, 28 August 2014 (EDT)
- That would go on the page List of Mario Kart 8 glitches. --Triple K, Skye 22:11, 28 August 2014 (EDT)
- I'm not sure, but I feel it's more to do with the water pushing the kart too hard, and the kart being unable to accelerate enough to climb back up. However, I haven't played it, so I wouldn't know if that's the situation or not. MarioComix (talk) 00:59, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
- What character was you using? If Morton, Warion and stuff, that's normal. If lights like Lakitu, then maybe it's a glitch, but I don't think so. TSUNAMI
- even though this should be on the glitch page Im trying to re-create this as lighter weighted characters, but with no avail, where there any other things that happened, like the location on the waterfall where you collided? - Cubeguy(talk)
- I was using Rosalina with Gold Kart and golden tires. I crashed into the wall almost at the top, I think. Left to me there was a land bridge. --MeincraftManu (talk) 07:13, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
- If so, I think this is normal behaviour. Rosalina is normal-heavy but that combo incresases speed and weight while decreaaing accelereration. That's why I use character with high accel. TSUNAMI
- even though this should be on the glitch page Im trying to re-create this as lighter weighted characters, but with no avail, where there any other things that happened, like the location on the waterfall where you collided? - Cubeguy(talk)

Separate Characters or not?
Do the Yoshi and Shy Guy colors really count as separate characters? They share stats, size, appearance, and even a roster spot. Couldn't we make the weight class thing that much smaller and count each Yoshi and Shy Guy as one character? 173.80.156.95 16:56, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
- That makes sense, but I think they're there to show that they exist. --Triple K, Skye 17:15, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
- I removed those recolors. We don't list the recolors for the character in Mario Sports Mix, do we? It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:15, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
Landship
Since the Peach Parasol is noted for being an alternate color when used by (Baby) Daisy or Rosalina in the vehicle part chart, shouldn't the Landship be marked the same way for the Koopalings? (If you don't see the color difference, it's subtle and only affects small things such as the cannon flaps and the seat.) 70.64.149.212 19:32, 29 August 2014 (EDT)
Icon Organization
- I've been organizing the character icons by how they're ordered in-game, but I'm not getting why not everyone is agreeing to this. Link's icon comes "after" Cat Peach's icon when you look at the character select screen after all. M&SG (talk) 07:32, 30 August 2014 (EDT)
- Also, we've ordered the vehicle parts by in-game order for Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, so I'd think that the characters would receive the same treatment as well. M&SG (talk) 07:38, 30 August 2014 (EDT)
- But in the promo photo of the site, Link is BEFORE Tanooki Mario. What to do? As for now, leave them as they are, then let's see Link's position. TSUNAMI
- Okay, but all that I know is that the order on the character select screen is Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link, Villager, Isabelle, and Dry Bowser. The second half is ordered correctly, but the first half is the part that has the problems. M&SG (talk) 08:14, 30 August 2014 (EDT)
- Check this image: Link is BEFORE Tanooki Mario. And is found in Nintendo's official site. TSUNAMI
- And then comes this:
Nintendo really goofed up with Link's icon placement there. M&SG (talk) 09:09, 30 August 2014 (EDT)- Maybe the first was the beta... or this is just error. TSUNAMI
- If you'r ordering it by there positions in the roster then it should be fine, i don't know why people are going by the order of a pamphlet, seriously when when you read something you go from left to right automatically, even sub-consciously, so for someone who just discovered the pamphlet the first icon they'll see is link's thus getting them interested since a different game character will interest people, that or the designer didn't really care which icon came first. The edit should be reasonable regardless since your where going by the game and not pamphlet, i for one don't play a pamphlet. - Cubeguy(talk)
- I think Cubeguy is right. Link is after Cat Peach and was put different for intresting people more. END. TSUNAMI
- Given the way that they have attempted to group characters by weight type and relevance I think you can expect some major realignment when the DLCs are released... So not sure I would get crazy about placement until the DLC is out. I would also bet they move the metals to make more placement sense... however not sure how much sense there is having the Blue Falcon, an FZero track and yet Blue Falcon isn't a playable character? Weird. Despyria (talk) 00:32, 7 October 2014 (EDT)
- I kind of doubt there will be realignment. I'd expect the roster with the DLC to be the same, just that you can select half of the bottom row now. They had Blue Falcon before (as a playable kart, not character *wink wink*) in Mario Kart Wii AND they have an Excitebike Track and a Steel Diver vehicle. I'm not surprised Captain Falcon isn't here. My personal opinion is that Tanooki Mario is first because, well, it's Mario. And then splitting him and Cat Peach apart with a crossover character seems goofy, so they go together. Dry Bowser is apart because he's their antagonist and it also helps to envelope the crossover characters with Mario characters. Finally, Link was probably first on the pamphlet because they wanted to promote the fact that Link is in Mario Kart, as opposed to starting with Tanooki Mario. MarioComix (talk) 21:15, 8 October 2014 (EDT)
So, now that Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario are in...
Should we consider them separate characters too (as well as create a new page for each one)? Like Metal Mario, and Pink Gold Peach are? I mean, now we have 4 Princess Peaches.racing at the same time (Peach, Baby Peach, PGP and Neko Peach).User:Ashley anEoTselkie/sig
- That's the problem. Cat Peach was previously merged with Cat Mario, so I don't think Tanooki Mario deserves another article. Gold Mario form and charater got also merged. Even if 4 Peaches are at the same time in track, they could simply be clones with the Double Cherry. TSUNAMI
(Facepalms) No real thought should go into this, Tanooki Mario is mario and Cat peach is peach, its just them racing with there power-up costumes on. This does NOT make them separate characters in any right. A place you could mention them though is in the trivia section or there mario kart8 section in there articles. You can also add it to the tanooki leafs and cat bells page as trivia.(cross's hands infront of self) No individual pages are needed. - Cubeguy(talk)
- OK, I know. But the Double Cherry still is da key to resolve some problems, such as this. And maybe the game is programmed that if Mario is in, Tanooki is not and same as Peach and Cat Peach, but I don't think so much at this. It is still not released. I do never writed we need new pages, if a proposal is made, I'm opposing. TSUNAMI
Here is my thought: Tanooki Mario should NOT be considered as a separate character. Metal Mario is treated like a separated character because he has a multitude of appearances that backs him up: a fairly recurring opponent in Super Smash Bros. games, a playable character in Mario Golf 64, Dr. Mario 64, Mario Tennis Open, and Mario Kart 7, not including Mario Kart 8. If Tanooki Mario gets more playable appearances, treated like a separate character with different stats and all, then maybe he can get his own character article. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:02, 30 August 2014 (EDT)
- If Tanooki Mario had different stats, then I would split them. If it's like Gold Mario and has no real changes aside from a powerup, then it ain't needed. Like Mario said, treat him separate if he's recurring. - 17:04, 30 August 2014 (EDT)
Worth noting?
Just thought this, is it worth noting that the 8 extra colors for shyguy and yoshi can only appear if used by human players? - Cubeguy(talk)
- Don't think so, unless the article mentions that the CPU characters will never use Miis. BabyLuigi64
- Maybe... it is not one of the most important things, but I dunno. TSUNAMI
- Indeed, extra colors for Yoshi and Shy Guy cannot be used by CPU, like the Miis, Gold parts, and Mercedes parts.109.213.69.237 11:52, 7 September 2014 (EDT)
- Maybe... it is not one of the most important things, but I dunno. TSUNAMI
I would like to bring another thing up then, is it worth noting that characters with an adult/baby form share the same car parts when racing both being cpu's or 1 cpu and 1 player? - Cubeguy(talk)
- Have you tried it and seen that it occurs every single time? If so, that should be added to the page. MarioComix (talk) 23:49, 1 September 2014 (EDT)

Put explanion of statistics in a seperate section?

About the Bullet Bill
Has anyone noticed that the item is actually a bit steerable when in use?
I think this has been the only time in a Mario kart game so far that this happens but I don't know if it happens in the other games. (mainstream or arcade.)
If this doesn't happen elsewhere than would it count as trivia?
- Bullet Bill has been steerable since Mario Kart DS, so it doesnt really count as trivia. - Cubeguy(talk)
I was not aware that it was steerable in Mario kart Ds and I have it along with the other two that Tsunami mentioned. I'll have to check things out whenever I get one in those games. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)

I just found out about it yesterday night. I also saw in the trailer a new jeep type kart that Tanooki Mario was driving. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)
excitebike arena cup
Has it been confirmed anywhere that excitebike arena is in egg cup? going by how the cups are currently lined up it would seem that it would be in Triforce cup as that's in line with the new cups and egg cup is in line with all of the other retro cups 142.165.250.107 22:59, 29 October 2014 (EDT)
- It's still unknown in which cup is it. No ads in the track regarding that. And we also aren't sure if Egg Cup is fully retro and Triforce Cup if fully nitro. TSUNAMI
Although it comes out soon id say just list them and not place them into a cup, its more accurate that way, i know it sounds silly, but assuming which cup on something that nintendo have only started is jumping the gun, after the release of the first pack it'll be clear whether they follow the New or retro cups. I agree its tricky since excitebike is anold game they could place it in either but that means any of the non-mario tracks could be placed anywhere, so we just sit on our hands about it till it comes out, then we'll know, we'll know everything.....- Cubeguy(talk)
I am a GENIUS!!!
I discovered the wieght classes for the DLC characters.... Well, kinda if none of them do the Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach thing. See I measured the sizes of the vehicles in the DLC screen shots with exsistant photos I took and can determine the following:
Link and Dry Bowser will have large vehicle sizes, implying heavyweight. Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario have the same sizes as Mario (I cheated, used the trailer, but that inspired the idea) implying medium. Both Villager and Isabelle have small karts implying light weight!
Does anyone still require proof, Or can I insert it?Toadbrigade5 (talk) 20:44, 30 October 2014 (EDT)
- Until it's officially confirmed, what you have written is fan theory, so no it can't be put into the article. Yoshi876 (talk)
- Dang it... I thought if the porportions of the kart were discovered it might work... But it's not fan theory if it originated from the game screenshots, right? Toadbrigade5 (talk) 20:51, 30 October 2014 (EDT)
Luigi's Death Stare
Hey, where's the mention of Luigi's death stare?

Rupee
In the item roulette or Hyrule Circuit, you can recieve rupees instead of coins. So are they a seperate item, and do they deserve a place with the rest of the items? (ToadBrigade5, I am using a different comuter and cant log in)
- If that's true, I guess we can say in the item listing that they appear instead of coins in that course. BabyLuigi64
- I saw gamexplain's video playthrough of the course and Rupees are indeed found on the track and can be obtained from item boxes instead of coins but only for that track I'd believe. Nintendoplayerawesome (talk)
- I don't know, but probabily we can list it directly under both Coins, for the simple reason "an image is appreciated". TSUNAMI
- It is only on that track, I can confirm. There is a roulette image, and I think it should be placed in the on track items section. Toadbrigade5 (talk) 00:51, 7 November 2014 (EST)
- Since it appears both in track and as item, I was thinking to:

Tanooki Mario's horn is a sound from Super Mario World, when Mario spins.

DLC content
- Stamps: a note should be added to indicate that no stamps are awarded for winning a Grand Prix as a DLC character, nor for beating a staff ghost on a DLC course.
- Add-On Packs: A paragraph break should be inserted before the sentence "Purchase of both packs will also include eight different colored Yoshis and Shy Guys." as this does not refer to Download Pack 2, but to both add-on packs. --Hprill (talk) 09:13, 25 November 2014 (EST)
I meant that the bold sentence in the following paragraph does not make sense there, it should be put elsewhere:
- The second pack, tilted "Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8" and set to be released in May 2015, includes the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Leaf as well as Dry Bowser. The cups included are the Crossing Cup and the Bell Cup. Purchase of both packs will also include eight different colored Yoshis and Shy Guys.[27] New courses include a new Animal Crossing: New Leaf themed course and a completely new jungle course.
This sentence is about both packs, not about the second pack. --Hprill (talk) 11:52, 27 November 2014 (EST)

- I don't think they should be noted. Though, I'm thinking more that if we have the best Prima times, we should have this, but since readers don't care about them much since they aren't from in-game, I'd have only the in-game times... TSUNAMI
- I see your point. For those like me who bought the Prima guide, the times are a big attraction. The NOBUO content and times are the reason I ordered this Japanese guide. Gingerbeardman (talk) 10:28, 26 November 2014 (EST)
Dry Bowser's size
I've been wondering why Dry Bowser's body frame size is still set to TBA. He's Bowser's skeleton, so he's obviously gonna drive a large-sized kart.
While we're here, I'm willing to assume that Villager and Isabelle are most likely driving medium-sized since they seem to look around the same height than Mario (That one's just a theory) --- SG9000 (talk) 12:33, 4 December 2014 (EST)
- They're all set to TBA because all of these sizes, though Dry Bones' is obvious, are unconfirmed. And since they are all not confirmed, they are all fanon thoughts. Fanon thoughts are not allowed, even if they regard a thing it's obvious to tell. Readers will probabily tell theyself that Dry Bones is very likely an heavyweight, but there has not been any clear (in a photo there are both Bowser and Dry Bowser, though it can't be telled from there) source it has the same size of Bowser, so it remains unconfirmed. Until we have a plan-on-plan image of the two Bowsers... TSUNAMI

I FOUND SOME MORE GLITCHES!
Hey! It's been a while since I have been on, but I got Mario Kart 8 for Christmas! So, I was playing it when I noticed some glitches we may wanna add. I uploaded these all by myself under the YouTube name Krazy Weegee, so all of these glitches I FOUND MYSELF! The first one is a Spin Boost Glitch. I was playong on Rainbow Road when, as I rammed into the Spin Boost Pillar the right way, I boosted off of it 3 times, but consequently got stuck on it. Here is the link to that:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k4IkvGLsoGM
Next was an Jiggly Camera Glitch, where, as I was playing on 3DS Piranha Plant Slide and uploaded the replay, the camera (after it focuses on Wario and cuts to the part with me again), the camera suddenly spazzes out and then corrects itself. Here is THAT link:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MW0rsRXlE00
Finally, there was one I did recently, but I have not uploaded it yet. I was racing as Bowser, and Waluigi comes up to me. Luigi tried to squeeze past but then THIS happens: his head starts rapidly shaking left and right! I will upload that one (hopefully) soon. Whaddya think, guys? ALSO, PLZ SUBSCRIBE TO MAH CHANNEL (Krazy Weegee) AND MAH GOOGLE+ PAGE!!!!!
http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCdtMuH7DmcfUH0biiBHuOrg
- The first may just be a very unlucky inclination and position, while the second, I just don't get it. The camera seems to be normal. And yes, I read your annotations. A true glitch I've been able to do a few times is to be stunned by something (like a Banana) and lose Coins, then if you got hit by a Thunder you won't spin nor lose other coins. I have yet to record it though. TSUNAMI
- First as said is just the character not being able to pass it because it is centered against the booster. Second is weird yes, but I don't see a way to (easily) recreate it. You haven't uploaded the third thing yet. Lakituthequick 13:17, 20 January 2015 (EST)
Yeah, I dunno about the camera one either, and once I recorded it, I did not notice it until I actually saw it as I uploaded it. The only thing I can think of for the cam glitch is that it forgot who to focus on, because Wario never pwned me with the green shell, but Koopa Traoopa did. And, it may have still been focusing on it as if it was Wario, thus causing the cam to spazz out like that...
GUYS! I GOT THE LUIGI HEAD GLITCH RIGHT HERE!!!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OOXPLbYJBHk
- Seems like Luigi repeatedly switches between watching target, Bowser and Waluigi. While it may look glitchy, it is behaving like it was programmed to. I don't think it is noteworthy enough personally. Lakituthequick 13:37, 28 January 2015 (EST)

P-Wing stats
It looks like the P-Wing has the same stats as the Steel Driver, the Badwagon, the Tri-Speeder, the Standard ATV, and the GLA.
There is no combination of gliders and mii sizes that would mirror these stats unless one of these karts is used. Also, I assume the Paper Glider is one of the light gliders and the only possible kart combination reflects that.
Edit: Somebody edited the page and says that it shares the stats with the Circuit Special and similar karts. Are we absolutely sure this is true? I would love if it were but I do not believe it to be.
Edit 2: I guess you were right! I tried again, using your Isabelle stats and it seems to match up.
