3-Up Moon
Template:Articleabout Template:Item-infobox
3-Up Moons are moon-like items that first appear in Super Mario World. They are shaped like moons, have eyes and a mouth, and can be found on the ground. They are extremely rare, and very difficult to get. They have a similar effect as 1-Up Mushrooms; however they give Mario or Luigi three extra lives instead of one. Also, if the player replays the level, the moon will disappear from where it was until the game is reset. Most, but not all, 3-Up Moons are only accessible if Mario or Luigi have a Cape Feather.
3-Up Moons will reappear in the upcoming Wii U game, New Super Mario Bros. U, most likely as a rare object with the same function. They are trapped inside blocks with their symbol. When released, they fall to the ground and start moving.
