Wave the Swallow is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and the mechanic of the Babylon Rogues. She first appears in Sonic Riders. In the Super Mario franchise, Wave appears in a few of the games in the Mario & Sonic series.
History
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Wave's artwork from Sonic Riders makes an appearance on a sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In The Subspace Emissary, the sticker boosts the user's arm attack power by 19 points.
Mario & Sonic series
While Wave makes no appearance in the games prior to the fifth installment, she has a Mii costume based on her in Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
She makes a playable appearance in Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, where she is available only in the BMX event.
