- “Cursa, having descended from the Megabug encountered in your previous adventure... ...has inherited its memories, from which it reconstructed this likeness of Bowser.”
- —JEANIE, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Darkmess Bowser is a copy of Bowser created by Cursa that serves as the first boss of Cursa's stronghold in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Its creation was enabled from when the Megabug possessed Bowser to become MegaDragonBowser during the events of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
Battle
During the battle, Bowser is a pre-set party member while the player chooses the other three. Darkmess Bowser attacks exactly like the real Bowser, using a Bowzooka as its primary attack and summoning three Darkmess Rabbid Mechakoopas as its technique, which pursue the heroes and explode on contact. It is also resistant to the Burn Super Effect. Darkmess Bowser is also assisted by several Magikoopas and Goombas. The location where Darkmess Bowser is fought resembles Bowser's Castle, as it features banners with Bowser's symbol, along with a throne.
