Paper Spikes are paper forms of the regular Spike enemy that appear as enemies in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Paper Spikes are encountered during the second visit to Doop Doop Dunes and are one of Bowser's last lines of defense in Neo Bowser Castle, sometimes joined by their regular counterpart and Pokeys. They attack like their regular counterpart, by throwing small spike balls which must be jumped over or big spike balls which must be hammered back.
Rare, shiny variants can also appear in place of the regular Paper Spikes in the same areas. These Paper Spikes have greater stats, though their methods of attack remain the same, and will always drop a Boo Biscuit and a LV 2 Character Card upon defeat.
