Save Block

A Save Block allows Mario to save his game in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. When Mario jumps on one, the block takes him to the save screen, allowing the player to save his or her game. These blocks are scattered all over the world. Additionally, Save Blocks can always be found inside inns.

Save Blocks were seen again in the Paper Mario series. This time, instead of jumping on top, they needed to be hit from underneath. They also had a vastly different appearance, being Aurora Block-like Blocks labeled "S" rather than the Super Mario Bros.-style, star-spangled blocks seen in Super Mario RPG. (Paper Mario-style) Save Blocks also reappear in Super Paper Mario.

In the Mario & Luigi sub-series, Save Blocks were replaced by Save Albums.
