Reznor is a quartet of triceratops on spinning platforms in Super Mario World. According to the instruction manual, they were cursed by Bowser. They shoot out fireballs at the player, who in turn has to hit their platforms from the bottom to defeat them. After two Reznor are knocked off the platforms the floor will break away to make a gap over a lava pit, though it is still possible to kill all four without jumping on their platforms.

They are the bosses of the many fortresses scattered through the areas of Dinosaur Land. Specifically: the fortress above the Vanilla Dome, the Forest of Illusion fortress, the Chocolate Island fortress, and the Valley of Bowser fortress.

Appearances in Other Media

In Super Mario Adventures, several Reznor are shown to inhabit the basement of the Koopaling's Tower, attacking anyone who is dumped into the basement. These Reznor were apparently destroyed when, after attacking Princess Toadstool, Friendly Floyd, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Yoshi, the Reznor ignited a bomb held by Princess Toadstool, blowing up the Koopaling's Tower.

Later in Super Mario Adventures, several Reznor, riding their spinning platforms, can be seen at Bowser's wedding to Princess Toadstool.

Trivia

  • The Reznor are rumored to be named after musician Trent Reznor, because the release date of Super Mario World is very close to Nine Inch Nails's first album (The Band Trent was a part of).
