Ghosts[1] are forms in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that defeated, out of play, characters take in co-op mode. Next to them, a five-second countdown appears. During the countdown, another player in play or a Standee can touch them to get them back into play as their Small form; otherwise the Ghost player loses a life.

Ghosts share a similar function with Bubbles.
