Template:Levelbox Pot Hole Panic is the twenty-ninth level in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! It is also the fourth area of Razor Ridge.
In this level, Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong must ride on almost every Animal Friend found throughout the game inside of a purple cavern. For the first section of the stage, the Kongs get to ride Squawks the Parrot, who is the only Animal Friend not optional in the level. This part is followed by a second part riding on Enguarde the Swordfish around a watery section, along with another part where the heroes must ride on Ellie the Elephant, although only for a short time. In the level's final section, the monkeys must ride on Squitter the Spider through more of the long cave. The enemies in this game's Pot Hole Panic include Booty Birds, Kopters, Kocos, Lurchins, Bounty Basses, and Buzzes. Kuchukas debut in this level.
Level layout
When the Kongs begin the level, they must fall into a thin gap and land on a crate with Squawks in it. They should grab onto the parrot and ride to the east. As they fly through the mostly straight path, they are greeted by Kuchukas, whose bombs must be avoided at all costs. After passing four Kopters gliding in and out of small alcoves, the heroes must float downwards, and then hover to the west. As they travel in this area, they need to defeat a few Booty Birds. Soon, the heroes find an underwater area. There, Squawks drops them off and flies away. So, the monkeys need to swim over a few Kocos to find Enguarde. The large fish must be ridden through the water, beating many different species of foes. After the three swim through the narrow paths around several Lurchins and Bounty Basses, they enter an open area with more Lurchins. They need to swim around the foes and swim in a U shaped path to find the outside of the lake, where they must hop off of Enguarde and jump onto a ledge. There, they can find the Star Barrel, as well as a crate.
Halfway through the level, the group needs to break open the crate near them to find Ellie the Elephant. The friend must be ridden through an area full of rowdy Kuchukas and Kopters. After they dodge each of the foes on the eastward path, they must fall into a gap and land into another lake. There, the Kongs have to say goodbye to Ellie as they leave her and hop up into a high up barrel nearby. It shoots them to the next area, where Squitter can be found. The spider must be ridden under two dangerous Kopters. After that, the heroes must avoid a Booty Bird, being surrounded by another Kopter. Once they pass this short part, the monkeys and Squitter should continue east and watch out for the bombs of a Kuchuka. Farther on is a No Animal Sign. Squitter disappears when this sign is passed, allowing the Kongs to get onto the flagpole to the right and exit the level.

Collect 20 Stars! When the heroes dive into a watery area on Ellie the Elephant, they should head west and look up to see a Bonus Barrel. If the primates jump off of Ellie as she jumps in mid-air, they should fly high enough to reach the barrel. Once they get in it, they are taken to the Bonus Level, where they must use Ellie again to hop up and reach many stars. After all the stars are collected, a Bonus Coin appear nearby. In the Game Boy Advance version of the game, the bonus is slightly changed. Instead of using Ellie to grab the stars, the monkeys have to jump upwards alone and grab the objects above them. | |
Collect 15 Bananas! Shortly after finding Squitter, the heroes should notice several bombs raining down on them. Squitter has to find the source of these bombs by climbing upwards into an opening with his web platforms. Soon, the group should find that a Kuchuka has been throwing the bombs, guarding a nearby Bonus Barrel. The heroes need to jump into the barrel to the right to enter the Bonus Level. There, they must collect many green bananas before time runs out. As they go, however, they are attacked by a Kuchuka and its bombs. Once fifteen bananas are collected, the Bonus Coin appears nearby. |

Immediately after passing the final No Animal Sign in the level, Kiddy must pick up Dixie and perform a Team-up move, throwing the monkey up to an above ledge. There, the two can find a Koin with the DK Coin. The foe must be defeated to get the item, though he is using the coin to guard himself. So, the Kongs have no choice but to pick up the keg at the top-left part of the screen and stand on the enemy. If they throw the keg into the wall on the right as they stand on the Kremling, it should bounce back and defeat him, giving the heroes their DK Coin. |

Trivia
- This level is very similar to Animal Antics from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, as the Kongs will get to ride all of the game's ridable Animal Friends in it.
- This level shares is name with a level in Donkey Kong Land. It is also set inside a cavern, but is otherwise unrelated to this level.
- If the Kongs enter the second bonus level while they have Squitter, he will accompany them, but only in the SNES version.
