This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.
World 5 is the fifth normal world in New Super Mario Bros. 2. This world is located on a single large cloud, with several tall pieces of land jutting out from below the cloud. The levels here are mainly aerial levels, although some do take place on land, which are mainly cliffs or slopes. The map music is the same one played in World 7 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This world can be accessed by completing World 4-Castle or World Flower-Castle. This is also an optional world as it can be bypassed by completing World Flower-Cannon instead, leading to World 6.
There are a total of 11 levels and 4 Toad Houses that can be found here. The 11 levels include 8 levels on the main path (including the Fortress and Castle), two secret levels and the rainbow course. One of the secret levels is the world's Ghost House, which can only be seen on the map when it is unlocked. Of the 4 Toad Houses, two are red and two are green. The boss of this world is Ludwig von Koopa, who is fought at the castle. Completing this world will open up World 6.
Levels
World 5-
Rainbow
To access this level, the timer must end with the two digits '55' (that is, 'x55', where 'x' can be any number) when the player reaches the flagpole of any World 5 level. Once the level is completed, it will disappear, and can be accessed again by satisfying the above condition once more.
Mario is launched onto a moving platform, which passes through two waves of Coins arranged in arch formations, a Coin Roulette Block, another wave of Coin arches, then a large Coin Roulette Block. Two more waves of Coins fly by as the platform reaches the right edge of the screen. Fall down to end the level.
This level is completely optional, does not have any Star Coins, and is not required to 100% the game.
World 5-1
This level is notable for its many Tightropes, as well as its circulating groups of Blocks, Coins, and Koopa Paratroopas
Completing this level's normal exit unlocks World 5-2. Completing this level's secret exit unlocks World 5-Ghost House

Climb up it to access a secret area, in which some Koopa Paratroopas are flying in a circle, and a Star Coin is circling in the opposite direction. Jump on the Paratroopas and grab the Star Coin.
Secret Exit
Go to the same secret area where Star Coin 3 was found. To the right, there is a tightrope. Jump around above the tightrope to discover another hidden ? Block with a Beanstalk inside.
