Barnacle is the eldest member of the Brothers Bear, a former scuba diver, and a shell collector. He only appears in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! He lives in a cabin on Barnacle's Island in the middle of Lake Orangatanga. Dixie and Kiddy Kong can swim to the island after completing Doorstop Dash. When the Kongs visit, Barnacle mentions that he was formerly a scuba diver before eventually deciding to take it easy at his home.
