In fact, this skin is so tough, Rockrocs are invulnerable to any form of attack. Additionally, Rockrocs are extremely fast, allowing them to quickly dispatch anyone that invades their territory. When inactive, a Rockroc will curl into a ball (and resemble a boulder).

In the original ''Donkey Kong Country'', Rockrocs appeared in only one level, "[[Stop & Go Station]]". Since they are invulnerable, [[Donkey Kong|Donkey]] and [[Diddy Kong]] had to figure out another way to pass by them. Unfortunately, since Rockrocs are so fast, it was virtually impossible for Donkey and Diddy to pass them by jumping. As soon as they landed, the heroes would be immediately attacked by one of the agile Rockrocs. However, the two Kongs could activate special barrels located throughout the level that would prevent the Rockrocs from moving. These barrels are normally on the "GO" setting, but when the Kongs hit the barrel, the setting switched to "STOP". At this time, the Rockrocs curl into balls and stop moving, allowing Donkey and Diddy to pass by. However, this effect would only last for a short period time. After a few seconds, the barrels would revert back to the "GO" setting, allowing the Rockrocs to run wild.

[[Donkey Kong]], [[Diddy Kong]], [[Cranky Kong]] and [[Funky Kong]] encounter Rock Kroc after they are found trying to escape the factory in Funky's [[barrel plane]]. Rock Krocs[1][2][3] (also spelled RockKrocs[4][5]) are enemies in Donkey Kong Country.[5][6] They have rocky, brown skin and glowing red eyes. The official German guide for the game implies that the Rock Krocs are zombies.[7]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

Rock Krocs are enemies in Donkey Kong Country. They are encountered in Stop & Go Station only, although the Player's Guide incorrectly states that they appear in more than one stage.[5] Rock Krocs are the main obstacle and feature of said stage, and Stop & Go Barrels can manipulate their movements. The Rock Krocs move continuously by default because the barrels are all set to "GO," but if the barrels are set to "STOP", every Rock Kroc curls up like a boulder and stops moving; this is required to pass through the level. However, after a few seconds, every Stop & Go Barrel reverts back to "GO", followed by the Rock Krocs getting up to continue moving. It is possible to roll through a Rock Kroc without taking damage. In the Japanese version and the second remake, if a Rock Kroc is curled up, either a barrel or Donkey Kong's Hand Slap can defeat it. When defeated, Rock Kroc releases either a banana, Banana Bunch, or an Extra Life Balloon.

Donkey Kong Country novel[edit]

An individual Rock Kroc appears as one of King K. Rool's lieutenants at the end of the Donkey Kong Country novel. Shortly after the Kongs board the Gangplank Galleon, Diddy stomps Rock Kroc's head, causing him to collapse (unlike in Donkey Kong Country).

Donkey Kong Country: Rumble in the Jungle[edit]

In the novel Donkey Kong Country: Rumble in the Jungle, an individual Rock Kroc leads a "squadron" of Kremlings within their factory in Big Ape City. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Cranky Kong and Funky Kong encounter Rock Kroc after they are found trying to escape the factory in Funky's barrel plane. Rock Kroc and the Kremlings attempt to attack the plane, however Donkey Kong uses a TNT Barrel to rip a large hole in the factory's wall, and they escape before Rock Kroc can reach them.

Super Mario-kun[edit]
