Remember to remove any parameters you're not using in the summary like "Describe edits, if any", and replace uncategorized with a category link based on where the image is from (in square brackets). So if it's an image from Donkey Kong 3, you add:
<pre>

</pre>

Also, was this image edited by you or did you find it somewhere? Official artwork with something like a tennis racket edited out is not allowed on here. 10:01, June 8, 2024 (EDT)
Please avoid getting information and images from other wikis like Nintendo Fandom if they themselves don't cite any sources. Either way, the artwork was clearly photoshopped from :File:Donkey_Kong_Jr_MT64_art.png and fan-edited artwork shouldn't be used on the wiki.
Also, after categorising, remember to remove uncategorized as well. You did properly categorise this time but just forgot to remove this template, so I've overturned the last warning. 10:30, June 8, 2024 (EDT)
Disambig. pages / image sizes
Please read over MarioWiki:Naming#Shared titles to understand how disambiguation pages work. A page with a "(disambiguation)" identifier needs to be linked to on an article for it to have a purpose, otherwise it's pointless because no one will be searching for one. If a page like that only has two subjects plus the subject with the base title, then it's not necessary in the first place - they can just be linked to in an about notice on the base title page.
On a different topic, keep in mind that since you're on mobile, any images you add to a page that has no width specified (like "200px") are automatically shrunk down to your screen, but they will display in their original size on desktop, often making them too big. In these cases, please always remember to add a width. 02:31, June 13, 2024 (EDT)
:How will I know what width to make an image? User:Starluxe (talk) 07:59, June 13, 2024 (GMT)
::You can check in desktop mode (the "Desktop" link at the very bottom of any page on mobile), but for infoboxes, about 200 or 250 pixels is a good size. 03:10, June 13, 2024 (EDT)
Wario Pool
Your article on Wario Pool has been redirected to list of unreleased media#Wario Pool. Unreleased games only get separate articles if there is a substantial amount of information on them, not just a few sentences worth. Also, you should use the "Show preview" button to proofread your edits before saving them instead of making several edits in a row just to micro-correct small mistakes. 11:48, June 16, 2024 (EDT)
Resized imagery
I have noticed that a couple of your logo uploads actually appear to be resized, blown up from their original resolutions: this appears to be blown up from this (and poorly cropped and made transparent from it at that), and these two appear to be blown up from their File:Classic Series Emblem (PAL).png File:The Software Toolworks.png (with the latter logo, the one for Software Toolworks, possibly screencapped from the Wikipedia page, turning it in a transparentless JPG file). Please don't resize images when you upload them on the wiki. It's best for the file's quality to leave it at the same resolution as where you found it. If you make it bigger, it'll only look blurry and/or pixelated.<br>EDIT: I realized you also did it for other files, such as this game sprite. What I just said about not resizing images also applies here: game sprites should ideally be uploaded in their original resolution. Not only that, but they should also ideally be uploaded as a transparent PNG or GIF file, not a JPG. 08:44, June 22, 2024 (EDT)
You did this again with the Falcon logo. Please don't upscale and add transparency; it looks bad. When you find an image source, save the image directly with the "Save image as" function rather than screenshotting the source and cropping the screenshot, otherwise it doesn't preserve the original source's quality and size. If you do have to crop something, just crop it normally without cutting out the background. And remember to rescale infobox images. 02:18, June 24, 2024 (EDT)

You were notified twice for this already. I'm not sure where you're getting these sprites, but they should ideally be ripped sprites uploaded in their original resolution. The Spriters Resource has spritesheets which you can save (don't screenshot) directly to your device and crop out the required sprite (I strongly suggest working with an image-editing program on a desktop device (Photoshop, Paint.NET etc.) to do any cropping work if your mobile device isn't enough to do the job). If you can't find a sprite and have to screenshot from somewhere (like from a video), don't drastically increase its size or add transparency. 23:08, June 28, 2024 (EDT)
Do not add transparency to jpg images and save them as pngs, even if they might turn out decent (which wasn't the case with the Nintendo Classics logo; part of Mario's hammer in the Donkey Kong cover you cropped from was left over). This goes against MarioWiki:Image use policy. 08:22, July 29, 2024 (EDT)

Identifier redirects
There's no need to go out of your way to create redirects with identifiers to pages that don't have them. No one would be search for these, and the redirect identifiers that have existed are because they were left over from page moves. 12:17, August 22, 2024 (EDT)
Premature ending of voting for Fire (100m)
The vote for Fire (100m) must be extended according to rule 9: "Proposals with more than two options must also be extended another week if any single option does not have a majority support: i.e. more than half of the total number of voters must appear in a single voting option, rather than one option simply having more votes than the other options." One option is required to have a majority, a plurality is not enough.--Platform (talk) 08:10, August 27, 2024 (EDT)
Remake categories
You got a "consensus" with one other user before you started removing those. I don't know how you're saving images from the web but just stick with jpg or png when uploading static images; webps are reserved for animated files. == Are You Smarter Than Mario? release date ==
I originally removed the release date in the infobox for Are You Smarter Than Mario? because the developer stated on his website that the game was made for internal use at Nintendo, meaning that it never saw a public release. Putting a release date on the infobox may confuse readers into thinking it was released publicly. 1468z (talk) 14:38, December 10, 2024 (EST)
:The second sentence of article also says it was made in 2008; should that be removed too? It's remained as so for a while now. 19:41, December 10, 2024 (EST)

Citations
Please cite sources for your information when creating articles for companies next time. It's not a good idea to take information from Wikipedia and call it a day as sometimes that page doesn't adequately cite sources either. If you do use Wikipedia as a source, consider incorporating the sources they use, otherwise if there is none, then don't include the information. There are also other sources like primary sources (e.g. the official website) and news articles you can cite if you search for them. 06:38, January 2, 2025 (EST)

Signature color
Hi! Just letting you know that the yellow part of the signature is very difficult to make out your name. You should darken the color, or place a background that contrasts with yellow better, or you can even attempt text outline so it's easier to read your username! It's not urgent to change anything, but it would just make it easier people to read your username in talk pages. 13:27, February 1, 2025 (EST)
:Oh, okay, sorry about that. Thanks for letting me know! I'll try to fix it right now. 14:05, February 1, 2025 (EST)

Unexplained removals
I noticed on List of albums you removed Rare Treats: DONKEY KONG 64 Revisited and Donkey Kong - Ashita ni Nattara... from the list with no comment whatsoever. They are very clearly albums, and they do qualify for the list. Is there any reason why you did this? I won't re-add them to the list until I get an answer here, just to be sure I'm not missing something.
:They were repeated twice so I removed the repeat and kept the one that was in alphabetical order. If you look here, you can see that both Rare Treats and Ashita ni Nattara were repeated twice on the list. 08:02, February 9, 2025 (EST)
::Thanks for clarifying! That was my mistake.
Crazy Kong cabinets
There are no legitimate Crazy Kong cabinets. Falcon produced only PCBs in Japan. Their American and European exports did have cabinets produced by contractors but since they are illegally made, we can't upload them just as we can't upload images related to bootleg SMB versions. The most recent image you've uploaded was made in 2021 by a fan . Since everything related to Crazy Junior is illegal, it is acceptable to upload images within that context.--Platform (talk) 21:50, February 16, 2025 (EST)

Italic categories
Could you please answer my question in the comments of your italic categories proposal? Is the goal of the proposal just to add Template:Italic title to the category pages, or to also italicise them in any other contexts as well? (Actually, I'm not sure if the latter is even possible to do.) 14:31, February 23, 2025 (EST)
:The purpose is just to add italic title to the category pages. I just assumed it wasn't possible to do in other contexts. 15:02, February 23, 2025 (EST)
Creating new articles
Howdy, Kaptain Skurvy. I saw you recently created the Rankings Board and Block (Super Mario Odyssey) articles. While I appreciate you taking the initiative, please make sure these articles are decently thorough before publishing. Both articles were under 1,000 bytes when published and were missing a lot of information from Super Mario Odyssey. (For example, this block in Super Mario Odyssey appears in nearly every kingdom, but does not have the same design in each. It is also tied to multiple Power Moons, and is especially important to puzzles involving Pokio. None of that info was in the article when published.) When we publish articles that are missing info, it creates the impression that we do not do our due diligence with research, weakens the quality of our work, and can implicitly make impressions of our site worse than they should be.
Again, I really do appreciate you making these articles, but please make sure they are adequately robust before publishing. If they are not, then perhaps work on it in your sandbox beforehand or ask for a second opinion. Thank you! - Nintendo101 (talk) 18:09, February 25, 2025 (EST)
:I do deeply apologise. When creating the block aricle, I was just going off memory and what the "Inside a Block Is a Hard Place" section stated for information, unaware it appeared in other kingdoms aside from Sand. Thanks for the heads-up, if I try make more Odyssey articles, I'll try do more research to make sure I've included everything. 18:28, February 25, 2025 (EST)
::Thanks for understanding! And no need to apologize: I genuinely appreciate you taking the initiative. Feel free to let folks know if you want help on any articles. The Discord and Mario Boards are good platforms for doing that. If not, you can always reach out to other specific users and/or myself on our talk pages if you'd like. - Nintendo101 (talk) 18:59, February 25, 2025 (EST)
Kongoland
Captain Ns "Kongoland" is not just an "implied location," it is visited several times in the show, including the first episode. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:12, February 28, 2025 (EST)
:Then I think that sentence was quite horribly written, to say the least.
<blockquote>
In several episodes of Captain N: The Game Master, a world named "Kongo Land" was mentioned as the homeworld of Donkey Kong, though it is unknown if the two worlds are related.
</blockquote>
This sentence's use of the word "mentioned" implies that it never appears and is only mentioned. If the sentence is re-added to the article, I think "mentioned" should be changed to "is shown to be" or something like that. 09:22, February 28, 2025 (EST)
:I imagine whoever wrote that only saw one episode where it was not actually shown and just assumed it never was. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:38, March 1, 2025 (EST)
Parentheses
Mid-sentence parentheses should always go before punctuation, not after. For example:
<blockquote>Mario (also known as Jumpman), Pauline, and Donkey Kong</blockquote>
not:
<blockquote>Mario, (also known as Jumpman) Pauline, and Donkey Kong</blockquote>
23:41, March 15, 2025 (EDT)

In regards to the Animal Crossing article proposal
We had a question about that one proposal to create an Animal Crossing article, especially in the wake of that one crossover article proposal. Given it's your proposal, we thought we should let you know we asked. ;P 13:40, March 19, 2025 (EDT)
:Alright, I just answered on the talk page. 17:20, March 19, 2025 (EDT)
"Game Boy version of Donkey Kong"
I don't really see that as any different than saying "8-bit version of Sonic 2," as that is also a totally different game from the more well-known 16-bit game. Granted, Sonic has a lot more experience with multiple games on multiple systems sharing a name than Mario and DK do (Unleashed, Colors, Generations, and Lost World come to mind), though those also usually share a basic plot. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:43, March 19, 2025 (EDT)
:See, the problem I have is that there a bunch of reissues of Donkey Kong, that the usage of the word "version" in "the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong" could make the unsuspecting casual reader assume Donkey Kong '94 is just a port of the arcade game for the Game Boy. To add to that, they probably wouldn't realise that "the Atari 2600 version of Donkey Kong" is a port, but "the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong" isn't. 17:28, March 19, 2025 (EDT)

New articles[edit]

Hello, when creating a new article, please remember to follow the Manual of Style. In particular:

 • Game titles should be italicised.
 • Remember to add any relevant categories and navigation templates at the bottom of the page.
 • Images are also recommended to show what the subject looks like.

Thanks and keep contributing. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:50, May 8, 2024 (EDT)

One or more pages that you have recently created have been deleted or marked as a stub article (Fedora Kong). Please consider the following ideas and suggestions when expanding/creating an article:
 • Before saving a new page, be sure that you have put as much effort and information in the article as you can.
 • Make sure that the page follows all of the rules that are outlined in the Manual of Style.
 • Perhaps upload a few images that can be used on the article.
Please don't take this notice as a dejection; this is just an informative notice and we encourage you to keep contributing.

Not only did your article not follow the points I mentioned above, this character has very little information about him (as you brought up on the article) and no official name, so it's not substantial for an article. What information there is is already covered here. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:20, May 11, 2024 (EDT)

Please do not create articles only containing a few sentences, an article needs to be in a near complete state upon creation. If you don't have enough information for the subject, then don't create the page at all. The top of MarioWiki:Manual of Style states "Please do NOT create tiny articles just for the sake of filling in red links. Even if the article you are making is about a minor subject, try to put a decent amount of effort into it rather than a rush job." Hello, Kaptain Skurvy! Thanks for your contributions. When writing, avoid using first- and second-person perspective with pronouns like "you". As an encyclopedia site, we write in third-person and not from a specific person's point of view or referring directly to the reader, so the term "the player", or the character's name, should instead be used in the pronouns' place.
Hello, Kaptain Skurvy! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out Super Mario Bros. generates Super Mario Bros.

If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes.

About[edit]

We have a template for "This article is about" notices (about); you don't need to type the full text out. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 08:17, May 11, 2024 (EDT)

distinguish too. Check Category:Notice templates or the source text of other articles to see what templates are used for notices like these. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:59, May 12, 2024 (EDT)

New article / Starlex[edit]

Much better effort on Da Banana Bunch: The Original Donkey Kong 64 Soundtrack; again, remember to add navigation templates and categories for new articles.

Just FYI, your previous account Starlex (talk) has been blocked. Please stick with one account when editing, as multiple accounts are not allowed (in case you forget your password, maybe consider assigning an email). Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 10:26, May 15, 2024 (EDT)

Redirects[edit]

Please specify where the name for the redirect comes from in the summary box (in mobile mode, it's the "How did you improve this page?" box) when you create a redirect, if it's from an obscure source. For instance, where does "Kissy" come from for Birdo? Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 13:11, May 15, 2024 (EDT)

Reminder[edit]

Please stop forgetting navigation templates and categories for new articles on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

I've reminded you twice about this. Please remember to add these to the bottom of new articles. If you're unsure which to add, look at other similar articles on the wiki. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 00:01, May 19, 2024 (EDT)

Please remember navigation templates; your last two company pages were missing them. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 08:52, June 22, 2024 (EDT)

Italics[edit]

Whenever you link to italicised titles (titles for games, series, books etc.) with identifiers, make sure the identifier (the part in brackets) is not italicised, and hidden, since it's not part of the name. The link should be piped like this: Mario & Sonic Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:47, May 19, 2024 (EDT)

Uploads[edit]

Please remember to fill in summaries for new uploads properly, per the following reminders:

Hello, Kaptain Skurvy. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below.

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. A description of the image subject (parameter 1) should always be included, even if it's just a few words. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, Kaptain Skurvy. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, images related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or one it its subcategories. Media files would use:

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, Kaptain Skurvy. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must apply the proper license. The following are the most common:

When uploading, select the license from the drop-down menu below the summary text box. Don't tag a file with multiple copyright templates; choose the one that best fits the file.

Lastwarn.svg This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Also, was this image edited by you or did you find it somewhere? Official artwork with something like a tennis racket edited out is not allowed on here. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 10:01, June 8, 2024 (EDT)

Please avoid getting information and images from other wikis like Nintendo Fandom [1] [2] if they themselves don't cite any sources. Either way, the artwork was clearly photoshopped from File:Donkey_Kong_Jr_MT64_art.png and fan-edited artwork shouldn't be used on the wiki.

Also, after categorising, remember to remove uncategorized as well. You did properly categorise this time but just forgot to remove this template, so I've overturned the last warning. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 10:30, June 8, 2024 (EDT)

Disambig. pages / image sizes[edit]

Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 02:31, June 13, 2024 (EDT)

How will I know what width to make an image? User:Starluxe (talk) 07:59, June 13, 2024 (GMT)
You can check in desktop mode (the "Desktop" link at the very bottom of any page on mobile), but for infoboxes, about 200 or 250 pixels is a good size. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 03:10, June 13, 2024 (EDT)

Wario Pool[edit]

Your article on Wario Pool has been redirected to list of unreleased media#Wario Pool. Unreleased games only get separate articles if there is a substantial amount of information on them, not just a few sentences worth. Also, you should use the "Show preview" button to proofread your edits before saving them instead of making several edits in a row just to micro-correct small mistakes. Dark BonesSig.png 11:48, June 16, 2024 (EDT)

Resized imagery[edit]

I have noticed that a couple of your logo uploads actually appear to be resized, blown up from their original resolutions: this appears to be blown up from this (and poorly cropped and made transparent from it at that), and these two appear to be blown up from their Wikipedia counterparts (with the latter logo, the one for Software Toolworks, possibly screencapped from the Wikipedia page, turning it in a transparentless JPG file). Please don't resize images when you upload them on the wiki. It's best for the file's quality to leave it at the same resolution as where you found it. If you make it bigger, it'll only look blurry and/or pixelated.
EDIT: I realized you also did it for other files, such as this game sprite. What I just said about not resizing images also applies here: game sprites should ideally be uploaded in their original resolution. Not only that, but they should also ideally be uploaded as a transparent PNG or GIF file, not a JPG. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 08:44, June 22, 2024 (EDT)

Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 02:18, June 24, 2024 (EDT)

Please stop uploading upscaled and transparency-edited images on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 23:08, June 28, 2024 (EDT)

Do not add transparency to jpg images and save them as pngs, even if they might turn out decent (which wasn't the case with the Nintendo Classics logo; part of Mario's hammer in the Donkey Kong cover you cropped from was left over). This goes against MarioWiki:Image use policy. Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 08:22, July 29, 2024 (EDT)

Writing[edit]

Please review what I said above about categories, and you're still using "you"s in your writing.

Identifier redirects[edit]

There's no need to go out of your way to create redirects with identifiers to pages that don't have them. No one would be search for these, and the redirect identifiers that have existed are because they were left over from page moves. Premature ending of voting for Fire (100m)[edit]

Remake categories[edit]

You got a "consensus" with one other user before you started removing those. That's not enough discussion for a wide sweeping change like that - it should at the very least require a proposal. You need to revert that ASAP. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 11:56, September 21, 2024 (EDT)

webp[edit]

I don't know how you're saving images from the web but just stick with jpg or png when uploading static images; webps are reserved for animated files. The images you're getting from MobyGames were also jpgs (and were even bigger), so they weren't webps in the first place. Are You Smarter Than Mario? release date[edit]

The second sentence of article also says it was made in 2008; should that be removed too? It's remained as so for a while now. Kaptain Skurvy Kaptain Skurvy 19:41, December 10, 2024 (EST)
I'd say it's fine to remove since there's no mention of when it was made on the website. 1468z (talk) 14:46, December 10, 2024 (EST)

Citations[edit]

Please cite sources for your information when creating articles for companies next time. It's not a good idea to take information from Wikipedia and call it a day as sometimes that page doesn't adequately cite sources either. If you do use Wikipedia as a source, consider incorporating the sources they use, otherwise if there is none, then don't include the information. There are also other sources like primary sources (e.g. the official website) and news articles you can cite if you search for them. Signature color[edit]

Mario It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 13:27, February 1, 2025 (EST)

Unexplained removals[edit]

I noticed on List of albums you removed Rare Treats: DONKEY KONG 64 Revisited and Donkey Kong - Ashita ni Nattara... from the list with no comment whatsoever. They are very clearly albums, and they do qualify for the list. Is there any reason why you did this? I won't re-add them to the list until I get an answer here, just to be sure I'm not missing something. Sprite of Lakitu from Super Mario Bros.RykituSprite of Lakitu from Super Mario Bros.

They were repeated twice so I removed the repeat and kept the one that was in alphabetical order. If you look here, you can see that both Rare Treats and Ashita ni Nattara were repeated twice on the list. Kaptain Skurvy Kaptain Skurvy 08:02, February 9, 2025 (EST)

Crazy Kong cabinets[edit]

There are no legitimate Crazy Kong cabinets. Falcon produced only PCBs in Japan. Their American and European exports did have cabinets produced by contractors but since they are illegally made, we can't upload them just as we can't upload images related to bootleg SMB versions. The most recent image you've uploaded was made in 2021 by a fan [3] [4]. Since everything related to Crazy Junior is illegal, it is acceptable to upload images within that context.--Platform (talk) 21:50, February 16, 2025 (EST)

Italic categories[edit]

Could you please answer my question in the comments of your italic categories proposal? Is the goal of the proposal just to add Template:Italic title to the category pages, or to also italicise them in any other contexts as well? (Actually, I'm not sure if the latter is even possible to do.) Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 14:31, February 23, 2025 (EST)

The purpose is just to add italic title to the category pages. I just assumed it wasn't possible to do in other contexts. Kaptain Skurvy Kaptain Skurvy 15:02, February 23, 2025 (EST)

Creating new articles[edit]

I do deeply apologise. Kaptain Skurvy Kaptain Skurvy 18:28, February 25, 2025 (EST)
Thanks for understanding!

Kongoland[edit]

Captain N's "Kongoland" is not just an "implied location," it is visited several times in the show, including the first episode. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:12, February 28, 2025 (EST)

Then I think that sentence was quite horribly written, to say the least.

In several episodes of Captain N: The Game Master, a world named "Kongo Land" was mentioned as the homeworld of Donkey Kong, though it is unknown if the two worlds are related.

This sentence's use of the word "mentioned" implies that it never appears and is only mentioned. If the sentence is re-added to the article, I think "mentioned" should be changed to "is shown to be" or something like that. Kaptain Skurvy Kaptain Skurvy 09:22, February 28, 2025 (EST)

I imagine whoever wrote that only saw one episode where it was not actually shown and just assumed it never was. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 09:38, March 1, 2025 (EST)

Parentheses[edit]

Mid-sentence parentheses should always go before punctuation, not after. For example:

Mario (also known as Jumpman), Pauline, and Donkey Kong

not:

Mario, (also known as Jumpman) Pauline, and Donkey Kong

"Game Boy version of Donkey Kong"[edit]

I don't really see that as any different than saying "8-bit version of Sonic 2," as that is also a totally different game from the more well-known 16-bit game. Granted, Sonic has a lot more experience with multiple games on multiple systems sharing a name than Mario and DK do (Unleashed, Colors, Generations, and Lost World come to mind), though those also usually share a basic plot. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:43, March 19, 2025 (EDT)

See, the problem I have is that there a bunch of reissues of Donkey Kong, that the usage of the word "version" in "the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong" could make the unsuspecting casual reader assume Donkey Kong '94 is just a port of the arcade game for the Game Boy. To add to that, they probably wouldn't realise that "the Atari 2600 version of Donkey Kong" is a port, but "the Game Boy version of Donkey Kong" isn't.
