Koopa Koot, Paper Mario

The Gold Card, also known as the Gold Credit and Golden Card, is an item in the Paper Mario series used to unlock specific mini-games.

In Paper Mario, the Gold Credit is a key item given as a reward by Koopa Koot when Mario completes ten favors for him, and is used in the Playroom on the south side of Toad Town. This credit replaces the Silver Credit that Mario had previously earned from Koopa Koot. When Mario shows the Gold Credit to the Toad in the Playroom, the Toad opens up another Warp Pipe that lets Mario play the second minigame in the Playroom, Smash Attack.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its Nintendo Switch remake, Mario receives the Gold Card by completing Frankie's trouble from the Trouble Center. After obtaining it, he can play the "Tube Mode" mini-game at Pianta Parlor. Several badges are also added to the shop: Power Rush, Power Rush P, Hammer Throw, and Tornado Jump.

In Super Paper Mario, the Golden Card grants access the secret mini-game called Hammer Whacker at the arcade. The Golden Card is found in a hidden room in The Overthere bar in Flopside. Mario can access this room by flipping into 3-D and walking past the wall that is by Carson. Mario and friends can then find the Golden Card (as well as a Cooking Disk) in a treasure chest. Once Mario and co. consult The InterChet with their Golden Card, The InterChet says that the current player is a welcome gamer and makes Hammer Whacker available to them.
