The minigame opens with the players on the white hexagon, followed by the other six rising out of the lava.

Gameplay
Hexagon Heat is based on Mushroom Mix-Up from Mario Party. After Toad raises a flag, players rush to the identically colored hexagon as the others sink into the lava. Any player who touches the lava is eliminated. Players can either jump on their opponents or flatten them from a ground-pound temporarily to stun them. The hexagons lower and rise at increasing speeds as gameplay continues, including the music in the Mario Party 2 version only. The last player standing wins.
When Toad raises a colored flag, all the players must go to the hexagon tile with the same color; all the other hexagon tiles slowly sink into the lava. Players can also jump on their opponents to slow them down, or ground-pound them to squish them flat and stop them altogether, at the risk of being eliminated themselves. As the game progresses, the hexagons fall and rise faster. The last player standing wins.

This is always the hexagons' order, from top left to bottom right: yellow, red, light blue, white (where the players start), green, dark blue, pink.

In Mario Party: The Top 100, the order of the colors of the hexagons has been changed, and in addition, there are shapes imprinted on them. This is the hexagons' order in this game, from top left to bottom right: dark-blue vertical rectangle, green triangle, pink square, white circle (where the players start), light-blue diamond, yellow upside-down triangle, red horizontal rectangle. Additionally, players no longer recoil from ground-pounding other players.

It costs 50 Coins to buy the minigame from Woody in Mario Party 2.

Hexagon Heat is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 2 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Overview[edit]

Hexagon Heat from Mario Party: The Top 100
Gameplay from Mario Party: The Top 100, showing Wario and Waluigi disqualified

The minigame opens with the players on the white hexagon, followed by the other six rising out of the lava.

It costs 50 Coins to buy the minigame from Woody in Mario Party 2.
