Woody, Mario Party 3

Woody is a character in the Mario Party series. He is a friendly, smiling tree who first appears in Mario Party 2.

History[edit]

Mario Party 2[edit]

Woody resides in Mini-Game Park in Mario Party 2. The player can use the coins they have to buy minigames played in party mode. 4-Player minigames are represented on Woody as yellow apples, 1-vs-3 as red apples, and 2-vs-2 as pink; buying every one unlocks the Mini-Game Coaster. Item minigames become represented as blue apples and Battle minigames as green apples, available after completing the Normal and Hard courses in Mini-Game Coaster, respectively. The five small Woody-like trees at Mini-Game Park each have a different category of unlocked minigames. Woody's last minigame is represented as a pear, which grows after buying every other minigame, and it leads to Driver's Ed.

It costs less to buy minigames from Woody that are from Mario Party or variations thereof, but minigames that save records or have multiple variations are more expensive.

Mario Party 3 / Mario Party Superstars[edit]

Woody is part of the board Woody Woods in Mario Party 3, later returning in Mario Party Superstars, and receives a bad counterpart named Evil Woody. There are three Happening Spaces in front of Woody, with the player moving either left or right to catch a falling fruit. One fruit is worth an extra Dice Block and the other is five extra coins. If the player chooses neither, Woody gives them an extra Dice BLock in Mario Party 3 only. Both games also include Woody in the background of the minigame Picking Panic.

Mario Party 6[edit]

Woody is on the giant tree at Towering Treetop in Mario Party 6 during the day, with Evil Woody taking his spot at night. Woody now has a nose resembling the base of a cut branch. Should a player land on the Happening Space next to Woody, every player receives coins.
