Boogie Beam is a 4-Player and Duel minigame in Mario Party DS.

Introduction[edit]

The players are standing on a billboard, which says "DANCE" at the top and has spotlights attached to it. The players perform poses if the lights shine on them, or gesture if not in the light.

Gameplay[edit]

On the cue of the music (which is an arrangement of the Underground Theme from Super Mario Bros.), a spotlight shines on some or all of the players. If the spotlight shines on a player, they must touch the yellow button. If the spotlight does not shine on the player, they must touch the purple button. For the last pose, every player's spotlight lights up. At the end, the player who did the most correct poses wins. If all players end up with the same number of correct poses, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending[edit]

Winners do their victory dances on the billboard. Spotlights in front of winners also light up.

Controls[edit]

  • Stylus – Tap a pose

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules"Strike the correct pose when the big beats hit. Watch if the spotlight shines on you. If it does, strike the left pose. If it doesn't, strike the right one."
  • Tips"The spotlight doesn't have a regular pattern. Watch carefully before you strike a pose button."
