*In most of the episodes, character names are partially censored or altered. For example, Mario's name is written as「マリ〇」(''Mari*''), while Toad's name is altered from「キノピオ」(''Kinopio'') to「キノ公」(''Kino-kō''), a pun on「キノコ」(''kinoko'', "mushroom") and the derogatory suffix「{{ruby|公|こう}}」(''kō'').
*In the live-action episodes, the plushes used to represent the ''Super Mario'' characters are those from [[Takara]]'s 1993 ''[[Super Mario Kart]]'' line.

Latest revision as of 18:01, April 28, 2025
This article is about a work that used to be available to the public, but is now partially or entirely inaccessible. Details: Only a few broadcasts are archived.
Our documentation of the subject is inadequate. Only remove this notice if the complete work is recovered and made available publicly.
The title of this article is official, but it comes from a Japanese source.
If an acceptable English name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.
Shitamachi Ninjō Gekijō (also known as Lily Franky Theater) is an official Nintendo-licensed "virtual magazine" for the Super Famicom's Satellaview peripheral. The series was conceived by Japanese humorist Lily Franky. In the magazine, many vulgarities occur, such as smoking, oral sex, and Mario killing Princess Peach and Toad.
The magazine is divided into two versions; a "live-action" version, which began in April 24, 1995 and featured Super Mario characters, and a "manga" version, which began in April 27, 1995 and featured Lily Franky himself.[1] Both versions ran until March 30, 1996.[1] A total of 98 episodes were broadcast, 49 for the live-action version and 49 for the manga version.[1] Only nine episodes were recovered; seven of them are the live-action version broadcasts of August 14, 1995,[2] August 28, 1995,[3] November 6, 1995,[4] November 13, 1995,[5] December 4, 1995,[6] February 19, 1996,[7] and March 25, 1996,[8][9] while one of them is the manga version broadcast of March 27, 1996.[8]

Notes
- In most of the episodes, character names are partially censored or altered. For example, Mario's name is written as「マリ〇」(Mari*), while Toad's name is altered from「キノピオ」(Kinopio) to「キノ公」(Kino-kō), a pun on「キノコ」(kinoko, "mushroom") and the derogatory suffix「
公 」(kō). - In the live-action episodes, the plushes used to represent the Super Mario characters are those from Takara's 1993 Super Mario Kart line.
