Plot synopsis

The live-action version starts with Mario making an important announcement to Toad: he reveals that he is actually an alien from the "Shinjuku Bare Crotch Heavenly Star" and that he must return to his home planet. Mario thanks his friends for everything, but they are all displeased with him, with Princess Peach and Bowser yelling at him to leave while Luigi and Toad complain about Mario owing them debts. Seeing everyone's reaction, Mario decides to delay his departure, to Bowser's annoyance. The narration then notes that Mario's building firm thrived for a long time, and that Toad ended up being paid ¥3 a day.

The manga version starts with Lily Franky saying that it is the season of farewells. The next panels then show a series of drawings of him in absurd situations to represent Japanese phrases, like having sex with a lobster for "accept anyone who comes with you" and him as a mountain for "being immobile like a mountain". He then uses more drawings to say that he avoids working because he is him, showing Mario not moving as Lily tries to control him with a controller, Lily in Hell as he smirks, and him singing in Las Vegas. Finally, he bids his readers farewell, telling them not to be sad because he will always be by their side.
