Whistlestop Summit is the third race course of the Mushroom Cup in Mario Kart World.[1] It takes place on a giant mountain themed after a steam train in the mesa region of the game's map. A railway line with active passenger trains runs all around the mountain.[2]
Course layout
The course starts out at the bottom of the mountain, where the racers will proceed up a winding road. The railway line next to the road then merges into it as both cross a large bridge and start to climb up the mountain. The road winds up to the top past a large steam funnel, before the road starts to descend down the mountain. The railway line splits off from the road, as the two wind along before eventually reaching the start-finish line.[2]
Shortcuts
- The racers have the option to grind along the railway lines instead of just following the road.[2]

Notes
- The trains that appear in this course appear to be modeled after the JNR Class D51 steam locomotive, albeit with a 2-6-4 wheel arrangement rather than the 2-8-2 arrangement that the class normally has.[2]
