The main idea is to follow the pattern. Hammer Bro. will hit four colored drums in order then release a music note to attack the [[player]]. Using the stylus, the player has to play the same drums in order before the music note hits them. If the player doesn't hit the same combination in time, they will lose a life. If the player manages to play them on time, then charged Music Note go back and hurts the Hammer Bro. and he will lose a life. When the Hammer Bro is defeated, the Player wins and clears the board challenge on [[Toadette's Music Room]]. They are also awarded [[Toadette]]'s music chair as a trophy.

The player tries to copy the beat, otherwise they take damage from note, losing one of their five heart units. If the player plays the correct beat, the Hammer Bro gets hit by a charged musical note, inflicting a unit of damage. After three hits, Hammer Bro is defeated, and the player clears [[Toadette's Music Room]] and gains the second [[Sky Crystal]].

The player is rewarded a collectible completing Hammer Chime a number of times in Free Play: "Toadette's Chair" on the first win; "Toadette's Piano" a second time; "Toadette's Timpani" a third time; "Hammer Bro's Hammer" a fourth time; and "Beaten Hammer Bro" a fifth time.
When replaying the boss minigame in Free Play, the player can win a specific musical instrument trophies and other things based on how many times they have beaten this boss. Some of the rewards include for '''Second Win''' - Toadette's Piano, for '''Third Win''' - Toadette's Timpano and for '''Fourth Win''' - Hammer Bro's Hammer. After beating the game five times, they are awarded the defeated Hammer Bro.

Hammer Chime is a boss minigame against Hammer Bro in Mario Party DS.

Overview[edit]
