Small Urchins appear only in [[World 3 (New Super Mario Bros. 2)|World 3]], and unlike regular Urchins and [[Big Urchin]]s, they stand still. Small Urchins can be defeated with a [[Fire Flower]], [[Super Leaf]], [[Gold Flower]], or [[Super Star]].

A Small Urchin[1] is a smaller variant of Urchins without a mouth that appears in only one game: New Super Mario Bros. 2.

Small Urchins only appear in World 3, as well as the First Course of Coin Challenge Pack C if the player downloaded it prior to the discontinuation of the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS. Unlike regular Urchins and Big Urchins, they are always stationary. Only Fire Mario, Raccoon Mario, Gold Mario, or Invincible Mario can defeat them.
