Mystic Forest is the fifth main world that Mario chases Donkey Kong through in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. This world's theme is a forest one, and the world contains a number of gimmicks, as well as the wide variety of enemies that appear throughout the levels. This world introduces Direction Switches, Cannons, Bob-ombs and their usage in breaking blocks. Monchees, Bats, Spear Guys, and Tane Pakkun also make an appearance in this world, and its plus counterpart is Mystic Forest Plus.
Mystic Forest is a main world that Mario chases Donkey Kong through in Mario vs. Donkey Kong and its Nintendo Switch remake of the same name. It is the fifth main world in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Game Boy Advance and the seventh main world in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Switch. This world is set in a forest at dusk, and it contains a number of gimmicks like Direction Switches and Bob-omb Blocks, in addition to new enemies like Bats and Spear Guys. In Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Game Boy Advance only, Cannons and Bob-ombs debut in this world, as they debut much earlier in Merry Mini-Land in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Switch.

A few differences are present in this world in Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Switch, including alteration of some Color Block formations and the level select's theme color being changed from cyan to peach to differentiate from Slippery Summit's level select menu.

In the Nintendo Switch remake, it is now the seventh main world, being set after the new sixth world Slippery Summit. Its theme color is now peach instead of cyan, which is instead used for Slippery Summit, while Bob-ombs are now introduced in the newly added Merry Mini-Land.

Exclusively in the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a bonus level that appears after completing enough levels in this world. The layout features Hammers and several rocks that block off the chest and some 1-Up Mushrooms, requiring the player to use the Hammers to excavate the entire level for bonuses. Like in most bonus levels, the player needs to catch the flying key and bring it to the chest to successfully complete it, but must also clear the way for the chest first using the Hammers before doing so.
