Gaz is a young Toad who lives with his mother in the Rose Town Inn during Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. When Mario arrived in Rose Town he played with Gaz for a short while before being knocked unconscious. While Mario slept Gaz's doll Geno came to life and headed out into the Forest Maze.
Once Geno joins the party and defeats Bowyer to earn the second star piece, Mario can then return to Rose Town to visit Gaz and he will give Geno his first weapon, the Finger Shot.
Since Mario played with Gaz, his mother, the inn keeper, let's Mario rest for free, unlimited.
