Variants

Helmet Zok Troopers are enemies in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are part of Zokket's army, being the weakest member of them all. They are first fought in Lottacoins Island, but are also commonly found in Color-Full Sea Great Lighthouse Island. Helmet Zok Troopers are gray in color, do not possess arms, and cover themselves in square-shaped bucket-like helmets. They will try to charge slowly towards Mario and Luigi on the overworld.

Much stronger versions of Helmet Zok Troopers appear on Lottacoins Island in the side quest Monster Mania: Level 5, where all eight must be defeated at once, otherwise they will summon more to battle. After Reclusa reawakens, all Helmet Zok Troopers become infected with Glohm, becoming Glohm Helmet Zok Troopers.

Battle

In battle, Helmet Zok Troopers are first covered with a helmet, which guards against damage done from any attack. If the enemy is struck once, the helmet will fall off and they become vulnerable. After a few turns have passed, new helmets will drop onto any uncovered Helmet Zok Troopers from above, making them able to resist damage again. Usually, these enemies are fought in a large group, occasionally having other enemies like Snaptors join them. Helmet Zok Troopers have two standard attacks:

  • Helmet Zok Troopers will form two lines for Mario and Luigi, and one from each line will attempt to charge into the Bro. The one who vocalizes first will be the first one to go. Mario and Luigi must jump over them as they charge.
  • Helmet Zok Troopers may form a line, then run into either Bro in a diagonal direction. All helmeted Troopers charge right into the characters, but any uncovered Troopers will jump on the targeted Bro, delaying their attack. Mario and Luigi must use their hammers to counterattack the attacking enemies.

If one Helmet Zok Trooper is left on the field, the enemy will look around, panic then flee, leaving a 5-Coin behind.
