Doom Bloom
First appearance Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2024)

Doom Blooms are wire like plant enemies in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They first appear once Reclusa awakens in Fortress Zokket, and are used by him to turn the fortress into the Soli-Tree, as well as for backup during the first two phases of the final boss battle.

In the first part of the Reclusa battle, they appear as obstacles on the field that the bros must avoid while trying to catch up to Reclusa. If they collide with one, they will have to defeat it in battle to continue.

Later, Weeping Reclusa summons four of them during the second part of the battle, which eat Snoutlet. The bros have to defeat the Doom Bloom holding Snoutlet in order to free him and activate Luigi Logic, letting them reach the next phase of the battle. These Doom Blooms will respawn one turn after being defeated, and will toss Snoutlet to each other every turn until he is freed.

Battle

In battle, Doom Blooms have two attacks. The first one has them lunge out to bite Mario or Luigi, with their angle depending on the height of the Doom Bloom in question. Shorter ones will lunge directly at Mario or Luigi if they do not squawk first (which must be dodged or countered with a jump), or strike above the bro if they do (in which case the targeted bro must do nothing). Taller ones will do the opposite, striking the air if they do not squawk, or striking down at the targeted bro if they do.

They can also shoot fire or ice balls at Mario and Luigi, which the latter must block with their hammer.

Due to only appearing in the final battle, Doom Blooms do not yield any EXP, coins or items once defeated.
