Type Boss minigame

Dragoneel Slayers is a boss minigame in Super Mario Party Jamboree. In Party-Planner Trek, the boss is fought after at least 30 Mini Stars are collected in Goomba Lagoon. The minigame's name is a pun on the phrase "dragon slayers."

Introduction

The players are riding on jet skis in the ocean when Dragoneel leaps in and out of the water twice in between them, visibly surprising them.

Gameplay

The main goal of the minigame is to defeat Dragoneel while also scoring the most points to win. Each wave of this minigame has three unique events:

  • First, the players must control jet skis to collect Green Shells in bubbles while avoiding Urchins and Cheep Cheeps.
  • After the players clear the enemies, Dragoneel creates a whirlpool that the players must avoid. Players sucked into the whirlpool lose three points.
  • During the last section of each wave, Dragoneel leaps out of the water, and the players must throw the shells they collected to damage it, earning three points with each hit.

When Dragoneel's health is depleted to half or less, it summons more Urchins in addition to Big Urchins during the first portion of each wave.

Ending

Dragoneel begins to glow brightly after it dives back underwater, with it exploding soon after and launching some Big Urchins skyward in the process. A rainbow forms over where Dragoneel exploded, and the game cuts to the players now on an island, where the winners and losers perform their respective animations.

If three minutes pass, all players will consequently lose and perform their respective animations.

Controls

  • Control Stick – Move
  • Single Joy-Con Right Button – Throw shell

In-game text
