Snaptors[1] are enemies that appear in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. They are red birds that have plier-like beaks, yellow slit eyes, and coil necks. In addition to their role as common enemies, Snaptors are also used as transport by Ten and Shun; Ecks does not ride them due to his natural flight abilities making up for his leglessness.[2] The Snaptor's name is a portmanteau of "snap" and "raptor". They have a bigger variant called Mega Snaptor, which serves as a boss.
Battle
Snaptors have two different ways of attacking. Their first attack is by stretching their necks at Mario or Luigi to peck at them, which can be countered with a hammer. If they cackle a bit before attacking, they will attack the brother they are NOT aiming at. [1] Their second attack involves them flying across the screen before snatching one brother and throwing him towards the other. If whoever was snapped up cries out before the Snaptor dives, you need to jump over your brother to avoid damaging him or yourself. otherwise you need to jump onto the Snaptor itself, to avoid both brothers being damaged..[3]
