Gooey Goons are blob creatures that hang from ceilings like Scuttle Bugs (New Super Mario Bros. version) from Yoshi's Island DS. They come in a variety of colors and hang down from different heights. In the second boss battle of World 1 in the same game, Kamek uses one his magic spells transform a yellow Gooey Goon into an over-sized whitish-peach Gooey Goon, Gilbert the Gooey, and twenty multicolored crystals (the same color as all of the Gooey Goons) cover him. Blue Yoshi must lick them off to defeat him.
