Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars and Super Mario RPG
In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, Mario, Luigi and Bowser can collect Coins and items from floating blocks -- all throughout the Mushroom Kingdom and in some parts of Bowser's body. There are 8 distinctive types of blocks in the game:

*? Block: The basic yellow one, can be striken at any time by Mario and Luigi. In Bowser's body, the blocks have a different design: floating bone with grey question mark.
Mushroom Kingdom
*Attack Piece Block: Multi-colored blocks with the letter "A" on their faces. They resemble differently-colored pieces of a puzzle joined together to make a block, and once they are hit, they give the player a single or multiple Attack Pieces at the same time. Before being hit, the locations of every Attack Piece are shown on the mini-map located on the Touch Screen, giving the player an idea of where they are.
{|style="text-align:center;width:100%;margin:0 auto;border:#ADD8E6;border-collapse:collapse;"border="1"cellpadding="4"cellspacing="1"
*Brick Block: Giant brick blocks, found exclusively in the Mushroom Kingdom. They serve the same function as ? Blocks but can be broken by either Mario using his hammer or by Bowser's punch.
|-style="background:#0000FF;font-size:14pt;color:white"
*Special ? Block: At first it shares the design with the ? Blocks found in Bowser's body but after being struck, it shows a pattern of 5 M and L Blocks, then they turn to 5 ? Blocks and must be struck in the same pattern to get the Attack Piece hidden in the initial ? Block.
!Item
*Rally Block: At first it shares the design with the ? Blocks found in Bowser's body but after being struck, it either has red arrow pointing left or green arrow pointing right, depending on which brother struck the block first. When struck, Mario and Luigi will face each other. One brother hits the block to send it to the other and vice versa, until the block is hit by the number of time seen at the bottom of the screen. The reward for successfully completing the block is either 4 Attack Pieces or doubling the number of coins in the inventory (in the case of the Challenge Node one).
!Description
*M Block, L Block and ! Block: Block either red/green in color with white M/L or purple one with white exclamation point. When struck, it turns on the Coins floating around them to be collected. In the M/L-Block case, the effect is only temporary, so coins must be collected quickly before dissapearing.

There are a total of 502 blocks to be found, but only 454 are counted in-game. This page shows the locations of each one and how to get to them. Like in the original, the Project K and most of the Bowser's body (besides Trash Pit, Pump Works, Flab Zone, Challenge Node, Energy Hold and Airway) does not have any blocks.

Additionally, there are five ? Blocks encountered by Mario and Luigi in Peach's Castle at the very beginning of the game; all of these ? blocks are removed when the Bros. and Bowser return back to the castle, as only Bowser can proceed further north past the foyer.

There are lots of things different between the original game and the remake:

*24 new Blocks - 11 ? and 13 Brick
*Some of the old blocks have different placements.
*Different contents inside most of the old Blocks.
*Blocks are now counted in-game, specifically in the Records section of the Star menu. Only the ? Blocks in revisitable areas and Brick Blocks are counted. Also, the locations are listed in specific order and will be same in this list (the Rally Block in Challenge Node is not counted in-game, but for the purposes of this list, it will be displayed between Flab Zone and Energy Hold).
*4 locations have been combined and then renamed into 2, making the list slightly smaller, namely: Peach's Castle + Peach's Castle Garden->Peach's Castle and Toad Town Caves + Toad Town->Toad Town.
