Spinies are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2. These porcupines have brown fur and pointed black and white quills protecting them from both rear and jumping attacks and damaging the the player characters if attempted. A Spiny can be defeated either by rolling into its exposed front, throwing an object at it, a team up throw (including on its quills), or jumping on it with either Rambi or Rattly. In [[Castle Crush], a Klampon sometimes accompanies a Spiny, with the opposite trait of Klampons being that they cannot be defeated from roll attacks but are vulnerable to being jumped on.

A similar enemy, known as Bristles, appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.
