In Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter games, these skis are used to play the 5 Skiing Events: Alpine Skiing GS, Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping LH, Cross Country Skiing, and Moguls, plus the Dream Skiing Events: Ski Cross Racing, Rocket Ski Jumping, and Supersonic Downhill.

They are found in World 1 ([[Frostown]]), where Sonic must spring jump onto the triangular platform on the West Side. They are then found in a chest with a Canadian Leaf, likely because the 2010 Winter Olympics were held in Vancouver, British Columbia. When they are found, a Dark Chao challenges you in Frostown. You must clear all 24 slaloms on Alpine Skiing GS in order to pass. Eventually, you are challenged by King Boo. You must beat him at Giant Slalom. The other challenges are as follows: Eggman Nega (Nordic Combined), Metal Sonic (Supersonic Downhill.

The Comet Skis are skis found in Frostown Plaza in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, in the Adventure mode of the Nintendo DS version. In order to get them, Sonic the Hedgehog has to use a spring to jump to the area where the treasure chest is. These skis allow Mario and Sonic to access Ski Missions and compete against Eggman Nega (Nordic Combined) and Metal Sonic (Supersonic Downhill).
