In Mario Party 4, an avalanche is what the player characters have to outrun in the Avalanche! minigame.
Donkey Kong franchise[edit]
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat / New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat[edit]
An avalanche occurs in Silver Snow Peak from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. As Donkey Kong and Hoofer are running down the mountain, it approaches the characters at a fast pace behind them. If they come into contact with the avalanche, they take damage. In the New Play Control! version of the game, a giant snowball must be removed to escape the avalanche.

In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch version, the stage Cliffside Slide is set during an avalanche in Donkey Kong Island's Cliff area.
