The avalanche in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
An avalanche chasing Donkey Kong and Hoofer down a slope in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

An avalanche occurs in Silver Snow Peak from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. As Donkey Kong and Hoofer are running down the mountain, it approaches the characters at a fast pace behind them. If they come into contact with the avalanche, they take damage. In the New Play Control! version of the game, a giant snowball must be removed to escape the avalanche.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze[edit]

In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch version, the stage Cliffside Slide is set during an avalanche in Donkey Kong Island's Cliff area. It carries platforms and hazards that the Kongs must navigate as they ascend the slope. Platforms may slowly sink into the avalanche when stepped on. The Kongs lose a life if they fall into the avalanche.
