The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors.
If an acceptable name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.
The Down Under Land Mayor is a monocled, moustached Mushroom Person who inhabits a town in Down Under Land, which he is the mayor of. As Down Under Land is similar to Australia in many aspects, the Down Under Land Mayor speaks with a rather fitting accent.
History
The Down Under Land Mayor only ever appeared in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Crocodile Mario". When Kangaroo Koopa stole the Magic Statue that protected the mayor's town, the Down Under Land Mayor asked for Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad to stop him, but they arrived too late. He then informed them that the town had become vulnerable to the crocodiles, and told everyone that the only place that they would be safe from the crocodiles was on top of the town's general store.
The Down Under Land Mayor exclaimed that the only way for Mario and Luigi to save the town would be to reclaim the stolen Magic Statue from Kangaroo Koopa. As Mario and Luigi fled from town to retieve it, the Down Under Land Mayor awaited their returned along with Princess Toadstool, Toad and the rest of the townsfolk.
After the crocodiles had chewed up most of the general store, the Down Under Land Mayor directed everyone to take refuge in the branches of a nearby tree, where they waited while the crocodiles began to chew away at the trunk. Mario and Luigi eventually returned with the Magic Statue, and with it, the crocodiles were scared out town, chasing Kangaroo Koopa as they fled. Laughing at Kangaroo Koopa's defeat, the Down Under Land Mayor thanked Mario and Luigi for saving his town.
