The Bone Piranha Plant is a subspecies of Piranha Plant debuting in New Super Mario Bros. 2.[1] It is a bony version of their relatives, with some changes:
- A grayish cranium;
- Holes rather than spots;
- Greeny gray lips;
- Vertebrae instead of a stalk;
- Dark gray leaves.
Even with these graphic changes, its attack patterns are the same as those of a regular Piranha Plant, however, unlike normal Piranha Plants, they are immune to fireballs. They, however, can be taken down by a Star or Gold Flower. They are only found in Fortresses and Castles.
